Courtney Andrew Walsh OJ is a former Jamaican cricketer who represented the West Indies from 1984 to 2001,captaining the West Indies in 22 Test matches. He is a fast bowler and considered one of the all-time greats,best known for a remarkable opening bowling partnership along with fellow West Indian Curtly Ambrose for several years. Walsh played 132 Tests and 205 ODIs for the West Indies and took 519 and 227 wickets respectively. He shared 421 Test wickets with Ambrose in 49 matches. He held the record of most Test wickets from 2000,after he broke the record of Kapil Dev. This record was later broken in 2004 by Shane Warne. He was the first bowler to reach 500 wickets in Test cricket. His autobiography is entitled "Heart of the Lion". Walsh was named one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1987. In October 2010,he was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame. He was appointed as the Specialist Bowling Coach of Bangladesh Cricket Team in August 2016.
Mohammed Shami is an Indian international cricketer who serves as a right-arm fast or fast medium bowler,representing India in all formats. He has played for Bengal in domestic cricket and for four teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Shami bowls the ball off the seam and uses swing,including reverse swing,to move the ball both directions. He has been reputed to have an edge in the death (slog) overs of a limited-overs innings and,in all formats,has been described as being at times "unplayable". Shami finished as India's leading wicket taker in the ICC World Cup 2023,besides being the fastest bowler to take 50 wickets in the 48 years history of Cricket World Cup spanning 13 editions. He is recipient of 2023 Arjuna Award for Cricket.
Jerome Everton Taylor is a Jamaican cricketer who has played as a fast bowler for the West Indies. Taylor eventually picked up 100 wickets for the Windies in both tests and odis. During 2017 he reversed an initial decision to retire from international cricket. Taylor has also featured for Jamaica,English sides Somerset,Leicestershire and Sussex,CPL teams St Lucia Zouks and Jamaica Tallawahs and IPL sides Pune Warriors and Mumbai Indians in his cricketing career. Taylor was a member of the West Indies team that won the 2016 T20 World Cup. He is the only bowler to have ever taken a hat-trick in a Champions Trophy match,which he did in the 2006 tournament against Australia,and that was the first hat-trick taken by a West Indian bowler in the ODI format.
Kemar Andre Jamal Roach is a Barbadian international cricketer who plays for the West Indies in Test and One Day Internationals. As a 5-foot-8-inch (1.73 m) pacer,Roach initially reached speeds of over 90 mph on regular occasions. After some time he adapted his bowling style,due to injuries and diminshed pace,to encourage augmented swing and movement of the ball. He triumphantly claimed the BBL02 title with the Brisbane Heat and was an essential part of the Surrey side which eventually won the 2022 County Championship title. During 2012 he became the first West Indies bowler to take 10 wickets in a Test since 2005. Roach has since picked up over 250 wickets in Tests and over 100 ODI wickets for the Windies. He has also featured for Barbados,Deccan Chargers,Worcestershire along with CPL teams Antigua Hawksbills,St Lucia Zouks and Jamaica Tallawahs in his cricketing career. Roach made history for the West Indies as he was the first West Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in a Cricket World Cup,which he did against the Netherlands during the 2011 tournament.
Sunil Philip Narine is a former Trinidadian cricket player who played internationally for the West Indies. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut in December 2011 and Test match debut in June 2012. Primarily an off-spin bowler,he is also a left-handed batsman. Regarded as one of the greatest limited overs bowlers,Narine was a part of the West Indies team that won the 2012 T20 World Cup,where he took the winning wicket of Lasith Malinga in the final. In November 2023,he announced his retirement from international cricket.
Ravichandran Ashwin is an Indian international cricketer. He is a right-arm off spin bowler and a lower order batter. Widely regarded as one of the most prolific off spinners of all time,he represents the Indian cricket team and was part of the Indian team that won the 2011 Cricket World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy. He plays for Tamil Nadu and South Zone in domestic cricket and for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Josh Reginald Hazlewood is an Australian international cricketer. He is a tall pace bowler known for his accuracy and has been compared to former Australian paceman Glenn McGrath. Hazlewood currently ranks no. 2 in ODI,no. 12 in T20I and no. 11 in Test in the ICC Men's Player Rankings. He won multiple ICC tournaments with the Australian team:the 2015 Cricket World Cup,the 2023 Cricket World Cup,the 2021 T20 World Cup and the 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship.
Shannon Terry Gabriel is a Trinidadian cricketer who internationally plays cricket for West Indies cricket team. He is a fast bowler. He quickly became a key member of the Trinidad and Tobago attack after his debut in 2010. Following a neck injury to Ravi Rampaul,which forced him out of the match,Gabriel made his Test match debut for West Indies in May 2012,against England at Lord's. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut on 21 June 2016 against Australia. He is the first player to bat at No.12 in a Test match.
Jason Omar Holder is a Barbadian cricketer and the former captain of the West Indies cricket team. He is a right arm medium-fast bowling all-rounder who features in all three cricketing formats. In January 2019,he was ranked as the number one all rounder in the world according to the official ICC Test rankings. In August 2019,Cricket West Indies named him as the Test Player of the Year and on 14 April 2021,Holder was named one of Wisden's Five Cricketers of the Year. Holder is the first West Indian male cricketer to take a hat-trick in a T20I,and the fifth,to achieve both 2000 runs and 100 wickets in one day internationals. He is also the second West Indian,after Sir Garfield Sobers,to attain both 2500 runs and 150 wickets in test match cricket. Holder was a member of the West Indies team that won the 2016 T20 World Cup.
Tagenarine Brandon Chanderpaul is a Guyanese cricketer who plays for Guyana in first-class cricket. He is a left-hand opening batsman. He made his international debut for the West Indies cricket team in November 2022. He is the eldest son of West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul. He played the role of cricketer Larry Gomes in the Bollywood film 83.
Jasprit Jasbirsingh Bumrah is an Indian international cricketer who plays for the Indian cricket team in all formats of the game. A right-arm fast bowler with a unique bowling action,Bumrah is widely regarded as one of the best bowlers in the world and as one of the greatest fast bowlers India has ever produced. He plays for Gujarat in domestic cricket and for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Kuldeep Yadav is an Indian international cricketer. He bowls Left-arm unorthodox spin who plays for India and for Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket. He was signed by the Delhi Capitals for the Indian Premier League. He was a part of the Indian squads which won the 2018 Asia Cup and the 2023 Asia Cup.
Rashid Khan Arman is an Afghan international cricketer and captain of the Afghanistan national team in the T20I format. Hasan Ali is a Pakistani cricketer who plays for the national team in all formats. He made his first-class debut for Sialkot in October 2013. He made his international debut for Pakistan in August 2016 in a One Day International (ODI) match. The following summer,he was named in Pakistan's squad for the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy. Pakistan went on to win the tournament with Ali named player of the tournament after taking thirteen wickets,and took the final wicket of Jasprit Bumrah. He became the quickest bowler for Pakistan to take 50 wickets in ODIs. In August 2018,he was one of thirty-three players to be awarded a central contract for the 2018–19 season by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Justin Pierre Greaves is a Barbadian cricketer who has played for both Barbados and the Combined Campuses and Colleges in West Indian domestic cricket. He made his international debut for the West Indies cricket team in January 2022.
Alzarri Shaheim Joseph is an Antiguan cricketer who plays for the West Indies in Tests and ODIs. A right-arm fast bowler,he plays for Leeward Islands and the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in West Indian domestic cricket. He also currently plays for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League. In 2016,Joseph was named Antigua and Barbuda Sportsman of the Year award. During his under-19 career,Joseph helped the West Indies win the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
The West Indies cricket team toured Australia in January and February 2024 to play two Tests,three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches.
