El Dorado is a city in, and the county seat of, Union County, on the southern border of Arkansas, United States. According to the 2020 census, the population of the city is 17,755.
The Arkansas State Senate is the upper branch of the Arkansas General Assembly. The Senate consists of 35 members, each representing a district with about 83,000 people. Service in the state legislature is part-time, and many state senators have full-time jobs during the rest of the year. Timothy Boyd Lemons, known as Tim Lemons is a self-employed civil engineer from Cabot, Arkansas, who was a Republican member of the Arkansas House of Representatives for District 43 in Lonoke County from 2015 to 2019. He was elected in 2014 to succeed the term-limited Davy Carter, a Cabot businessman who from 2013 to 2014 was the House Speaker. In his first term in office, Lemons sat on the committees for (1) Revenue and Taxation, (2) City, County and Local Affairs, and (3) Joint Committee on Energy.
Will Bond is an attorney and Democratic politician from Little Rock, Arkansas. Born in Jacksonville, Bond studied political science at Vanderbilt University before earning a Juris Doctor at the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1995. Working as an attorney in Central Arkansas, Bond represented the Jacksonville area in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 2003 to 2008. He was elected chair of the Democratic Party of Arkansas in 2011, serving until 2013. Bond served in the Arkansas Senate from 2016 to 2021. He lives in Little Rock with his wife Gabriel and their three children.
Danny Watson is a Republican member of the Arkansas House of Representatives, representing the 88th district. Watson defeated incumbent Democratic Representative Brent Talley in his failed reelection bid in the general election held on November 8, 2016. Watson began serving his first term in the 91st General Assembly on January 9, 2017 where he serves on the House Revenue and Taxation Committee, the House Aging, Children and Youth, Legislative and Military Affairs Committee, and the Energy Joint Committee. He was elected to the 88th district on November 8, 2022 in the 2022 Arkansas House of Representatives election, and assumed office January 9, 2023.
Chris deGruy Kennedy is a Democratic member of the Colorado House of Representatives. He represents house district 30, which includes the Jefferson County communities of Lakewood and Edgewater. Prior to reapportionment implemented in 2023, he represented the 23rd district, which covered a portion of Jefferson County. He was first elected to the state house in 2016, succeeding Max Tyler.

The Ninety-First Arkansas General Assembly was the legislative body of the state of Arkansas in 2017 and 2018. In this General Assembly, the Arkansas Senate and Arkansas House of Representatives were both controlled by the Republicans. In the Senate, 23 senators were Republicans, 11 were Democrats, and one position was vacant until April. In the House, 69 representatives were Republicans, 30 were Democrats, and one was independent.
