Mattie Thomas Blount High School is one of 16 high schools in the Mobile County Public School System. It is located in Eight Mile and in unincorporated Mobile County, Alabama. [2]
It serves portions of Prichard. [3] [4] It is named for administrator Mattie Thomas Blount. As of 2022, 96 percent of the student body is African American. [5] It had about 1,160 students. [6] The school colors are purple and white and leopards are the mascot. [7] It has won several championships in football and several players have gone on to the NFL. [8] [9]
