Maysville Community and Technical College (MCTC) is a public community college in Maysville, Kentucky. It is part of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. It was formed in December 2004 from the consolidation of Maysville Community College in Maysville and Rowan Technical College in Morehead, Kentucky. MCTC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

MCTC maintains four campuses and several satellite locations and offers programs at the East Kentucky Correctional Complex.
The Maysville Campus (formerly Maysville Community College) is in Maysville, Kentucky. Its original building is the 53,000-square-foot (4,900 m2) Administration Building constructed in 1969. In 1983, the 16,231-square-foot (1,507.9 m2) Denham Wing was added. The third building added to the campus was the 31,314-square-foot (2,909.2 m2) Calvert Student Center that was completed in 1992 and is connected to the Denham Wing. In 2002, the 45,000-square-foot (4,200 m2) Technical Center became the fourth building on campus. In 2010, a new science building was completed, unconnected to the previous complex. [1]
The Rowan Campus (formerly Rowan Technical College) is five miles (8.0 km) west of Morehead, Kentucky, on Kentucky Highway 801 on a 41-acre (170,000 m2) tract of land adjacent to the Morgan-Menifee-Rowan Regional Business Park. [1]
The Licking Valley Campus opened in Cynthiana, Kentucky in 1989. In 2002, the Licking Valley Campus moved from a leased facility to its new 19,000-square-foot (1,800 m2) building in Cynthiana. [1]
The Montgomery Campus opened in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky in 2013. The Montgomery Campus fills a 64,000-square-foot (5,900 m2) building that was originally home to Cowden Manufacturing where denim jeans and other apparel had been produced. [1]

Menifee County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 6,113, making it the fifth-least populous county in Kentucky. Its county seat is Frenchburg. The county is named for Richard Hickman Menefee, U.S. Congressman, although the spelling has changed. It is a prohibition or dry county. Menifee County is part of the Mount Sterling, KY Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Lexington-Fayette–Richmond–Frankfort, KY combined statistical area. It is located in the foothills of the Cumberland Plateau.

Morehead State University (MSU) is a public university in Morehead, Kentucky. The university began as Morehead Normal School, which opened its doors in 1887. The Craft Academy for Excellence in Science and Mathematics, a two-year residential early college high school on the university's campus, was established in 2014.
Cave Run Lake, located south of Morehead, Kentucky, USA along Kentucky Route 801, is an 8,270-acre (33 km2) reservoir built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The 148 feet (45 m), half-mile dam construction began in 1965 and was completed in 1973. Cave Run Lake is in the northern part of the Daniel Boone National Forest. Cave Run Lake provides flood protection to the lower Licking River valley, supplies water to the area's communities, improves the Licking River's water flow conditions, and offers a habitat for various species of fish and wildlife. It is in Rowan, Morgan, Menifee, and Bath counties.
Jefferson Community and Technical College (JCTC) is a public community college in Louisville, Kentucky. It is part of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System and the largest college in that system. JCTC was formed on July 1, 2005, by the consolidation of Jefferson Community College and Jefferson Technical College. Jefferson Community College was originally chartered in 1968 and Jefferson Technical College was chartered in 1953. JCTC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) is the system of public community and technical colleges in the U.S. state of Kentucky. It is headquartered in Versailles, Kentucky, and has 16 colleges with over 70 campuses. Programs offered include associate degrees; pre-baccalaureate education to transfer to a public 4-year institution; adult education, continuing and developmental education; customized training for business and industry; and distance learning. KCTCS was founded as part of the Postsecondary Improvement Act of 1997, signed by former Kentucky Governor Paul E. Patton, to create a new institution to replace the University of Kentucky's Community College System and the Kentucky Department of Education's network of technical schools. The Kentucky Fire Commission, a separate state entity responsible for training emergency responders, also became part of KCTCS at that time.

The 2002 United States Senate election in Kentucky was held on November 5, 2002. Incumbent Republican U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell won re-election to a fourth term. This election was McConnell's biggest margin of victory to date. It is the only election in which he won Franklin County, and the most recent in which he won urban Jefferson and Fayette counties. The latter two were the only Kentucky counties won by either Hillary Clinton in 2016 or Joe Biden in 2020, signifying their leftward drift.
West Virginia Community and Technical College System is a statewide system of nine regional community colleges serving the state of West Virginia. It was created to bring uniformity to the state's system of community colleges. Previously some area had schools that were a part of large universities, others a part of small colleges, and others were stand alone. There also was a great overlap between different community colleges and between the community colleges and the state universities in the same areas. The system tries to define the programmatic distinctions between the community college and the state universities, and the geographic service area of each community college.
