Mednipur is the largest village by area in Zamania tehsil of Ghazipur District, Uttar Pradesh, India. [1] [2] There are two more villages along, one Kalupr and second Tari or Tarighat. All three are separate panchayats.

History

Tari or Mednipur before came in the zamindari of Gosai mal Rai a descendant of Maharaja Kam Dev Misir. Gosaimal adopted Islam in the 1540s. Gosaimal Rao got 20,000 bigha ancestral land or zamindari at a place where he established Ramaval village. He brought some people from his relatives and brothers and established the village Mednipur, Chaukiya, and Sonwal. Before Mednipur was part of Ramaval but was later population increased and a new village was made named as Mednipur or Tari. It derived its name because there was one Tari Ghat which was said to be built by Kam Dev and his descendants. [3]

Zamania Canal is one of the largest canals located in Ghazipur District. The idea for the canal was given in 1910 and the plan was passed in 1911, but the canal was established in year 1912 for the better irrigation of Zamania tehsil. It starts from Chakkah Bandh and ends on the banks of Karmanasa River near Bara Village of Seorai Teshsil. It irrigates about 61,863 acres of land in Zamania tehsil. Its average width is 110 ft.

Qasimabad Estate, was a Zamindari estate and a jagir, located in the Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh, India it got the status of jagir in year 1675. The capital of Qasimabad estate was the town of Qasimabad but later, in 1758 the capital was shifted to Bahadurganj. Qasimabad estate had an area of 672 km2 (259 sq mi) in 1850.

Pahargarh Estate was a Zamindari estate under the surganty of the Lodi Dynasty, from 1441 to 1457, and later under the Mughal Empire, Jhansi State and British Raj. Pahargarh is located in Madhya Pradesh, in Morena District, India. It was ruled by the Sikarwar Rajput of Maharaja Zamindar family of Pahargarh who were the descendants of Rao Anup Dev Sikarwar or his grandson Maharaja Kam Dev Sikarwar. When Kam Dev Sikarwar shifted to Ghazipur District in 1530, the estate was handled by his second, third, and fourth sons' family. Half of their family went with Kam Dev in Ghazipur District in Uttar Pradesh and half lived in Pahargarh Estate. The first ruler of Pahargarh Estate was Rao Anup Dev Sikarwar, who was originally a ruler of Viajypur Sikri, but later captured parts of Morena, Gwalior and Jhansi and established Pahargarh and built Pahargarh Fort.
