Meghanathan is an Indian actor who appears in Malayalam and Tamil films. [1] The son of actor Balan K. Nair, he debuted in 1983 in the Malayalam film Asthram . [2] He has acted in more than 50 Malayalam films. [3]

Background

Meghanathan was born as the third child of Malayalam actor Balan K. Nair and Sarada Nair in Trivandrum, Kerala, India. [4] He has two brothers (Anil and Ajayakumar) and two sisters (Latha and Sujatha). He had his primary education from Asan Memorial Association, Chennai, and has completed Diploma in Automobile engineering from Coimbatore. [5] He made his debut through the Malayalam film Ashthram in 1983. [6]

Meghanathan is married to Susmitha. The couple have a daughter, Parvathi. They are settled in Shoranur, Palakkad. [7]

Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha is a 2009 Indian Malayalam-language mystery film written and directed by Ranjith, starring Mammootty, Shwetha Menon and Mythili. It is based on the novel of the same name by T. P. Rajeevan, which said the true story of the first recorded murder case in Kerala. Mammooty plays three characters in the film. The film was Mythili's debut in cinema. Ranjith also introduced about thirty Malayalam stage artists through this film. The film tells the story of a private detective, who returns to his birthplace, a village called Paleri, to solve a murder mystery that occurred on the same night he was born. Upon the release of the movie, it got an 'A' certificate due to its violent and adult content.

Murappennu is a 1965 Malayalam-language drama film directed by A. Vincent and written by M. T. Vasudevan Nair. Balan is a lost 1938 Indian Malayalam-language drama film produced by T. R. Sundaram under the banner of Modern Theatres, directed by S. Nottani and written by Muthukulam Raghavan Pillai. It is notable for being the first sound film in the Malayalam language, and the third feature film in Malayalam cinema after Vigathakumaran and Marthanda Varma. Based on the short story Vidhiyum Mrs. Nayarum by A. Sundaram. The film is a melodrama about the struggle of two orphaned children. The film stars K. K. Aroor in the title role and M. K. Kamalam as the female lead, with Master Madanagopal, M. V. Shanku, K. Gopinath, Alleppey Vincent and C. O. N. Nambiar in supporting roles.

Jose Prakash was an Indian actor and singer who worked in Malayalam cinema. He was a singer turned actor who had appeared in more than 300 films mostly in antagonist roles. He was awarded with the J. C. Daniel Award in 2011, a day before he died aged 86. In a career spanning for around 40 years, he is known for portraying some of the iconic villain characters in the Malayalam film industry. Later, he switched to character roles in the mid 90s.

Asthram (transl. Arrow) is a 1983 Indian Malayalam-language film directed by P. N. Menon. The film stars Bharath Gopi, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Nedumudi Venu and Jyothi in the lead roles. The film has musical score by Shyam. This movie is loosely based on the Nanavati murder case. Author Bibekanada Ray described the film as one of Menon's films "dealing with various contemporary political and social concerns" in her book about India's offbeat cinema.

G. Keshava Pillai was an Indian actor and army and naval officer known for his work in Malayalam cinema. He was active for 65 years, acting in more than 325 Malayalam films, and is known for revolutionising the role of the antagonist in Indian cinema and television. He was known for his acclaimed villain roles in Vadakkanpattu action films, historical films and other action films during the 70s and 80s. He took also many notable roles in family-focused films and TV shows. He is the only actor during the 80s to have accomplished most of his stunts in films without the use of stunt doubles.
