Meja Thermal Power Station is an upcoming coal-based thermal power plant located in Meja Tehsil in Prayagraj district, Uttar Pradesh. [1] The power plant is owned by the Meja Urja Nigam Private Limited (MUNPL) a joint venture between NTPC Limited and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam. The planned capacity of the power plant is 1320 MW (2x660MW). Meja Thermal Power Station is an upcoming coal-based thermal power plant located in Meja Tehsil in Allahabad district, Uttar Pradesh. Future expansion

The state government decided in July 2014 to add two more units of 660 MW to the power plant as part second stage of the project. But work on the same is yet to start. [4] [5]

It has an installed capacity of 660 Mega Watts. The power plant is owned and operated by Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam. It has a 275 Metres high chimney which is one of the tallest structures in India

Parichha Thermal Power Station is located at Parichha in Jhansi district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, about 25 km from Jhansi on the bank of Betwa river. The power plant is owned and operated by Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam which is a state enterprise.

Singrauli Super Thermal Power Plant is located at Shaktinagar in Sonebhadra district in Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The power plant is the first power plant of NTPC. It sources coal from Jayant and Bina mines and water from Rihand Reservoir. The states benefitting from this power plant are Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and the Union Territories of Delhi, Chandigarh and Jammu and Kashmir. An investment worth 11,907 million (US$150 million) has already been cleared. It even gets international assistance from IDA.

Rihand Nagar is a township, named after the Rihand River, a tributary of the Sone River. It is located near Bijpur and lies in the Sonebhadra district of Uttar Pradesh. This township is situated near the border of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh in India. This township has been developed by National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) under its Power Project Scheme, wherein it established a coal-based power station of 3000 MW capacity.

Feroze Gandhi Unchahar Thermal Power Plant is located at Unchahar in Raebareli district in Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The power plant is one of the coal based power plants of NTPC Limited. NTPC Kanti also known as George Fernandes Thermal Power Plant Station is located in Kanti, Muzaffarpur, Bihar. George Fernandes was former Member of Parliament from Muzaffarpur constituency of Bihar. It is wholly owned subsidiary company of NTPC. The share of the company is 100% of the NTPC. The plant was not functional between 2003 and 2013; however, renovation of both older units paved the way for commercial production of electricity by the end of 2013.

Karchana Thermal Power Station is a proposed coal-based thermal power plant located in Bara Tehsil in Prayagraj district, Uttar Pradesh. The power plant will be owned and operated by Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam. Earlier the plant was supposed to be owned and operated by Sangam Power Generation Company, a subsidiary of the Jaypee Group but it backed-out due to land acquisition related issues.

Jawaharpur Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd is an upcoming thermal power plant coming up at Town Malawan district Etah in Uttar Pradesh, India. SJVN, formerly known as Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam, is an Indian public sector undertaking involved in hydroelectric power generation and transmission. It was incorporated in 1988 as Nathpa Jhakri Power Corporation, a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh. The company has a total operating hydropower capacity of 1912 MW through its two hydropower plants—Nathpa Jhakri and Rampur. In addition, it has an installed capacity of 97.6 MW of wind power and 81.9 MW of solar power.
