Mia Mastrov is an American college basketball player for the California Golden Bears of the Pac-12 Conference.

Early life and high school career

Mastrov grew up in Lafayette, California, and attended Miramonte High School. [1] She averaged 12.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.9 steals per game in high school and was named all-state three times. [1] She played Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball for the Cal Stars of Orinda, California. [2] She committed to the University of California, Berkeley, in August 2020. [3] She graduated from high school early in January 2021. [4]

College career

Mastrov made her debut for the California Golden Bears off the bench on February 5, 2021. She scored 20 points in the loss to Utah, making her the highest-scoring player for California on her debut ever and the highest scorer for California against a Pac-12 opponent at that point in the season. [5] She averaged 7.0 points and 4.3 rebounds in 32.2 minutes per game in six games that season (including five starts). [1]

Off the court

Mastrov's father, Mark Mastrov, is the founder of fitness center chain 24 Hour Fitness. [2] Her grandfather, Bert Mastrov, played college basketball as part of the first California team under coach Pete Newell. [3]

Mastrov is one of the NCAA's most-followed women's basketball players on social media, with 1.2 million followers across TikTok and Instagram as of March 2024. [8] [6] Her social media posts include lip syncs, basketball photos, swimsuit photos, and name, image, and likeness (NIL) brand partnerships. [2] [9] She is a close friend of Stanford basketball star Cameron Brink, with whom she played AAU youth basketball. [2] She has been a professional model. [2]
