Michael Joseph Brdar (born April 7,1994) is an American professional baseball hitting coach for the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has also coached in MLB for the San Diego Padres.
Brdar attended De La Salle High School in Concord,California,and played for the school's baseball team. [1] He enrolled at Diablo Valley College,where he began his college baseball career. He transferred to the University of Michigan to play for the Michigan Wolverines. [2] The St. Louis Cardinals selected him in the 36th round of the 2017 MLB draft. [3]
Following Brdar's playing career,he spent two seasons as the hitting coordinator for the San Francisco Giants organization. [4] After the 2021 season,the San Diego Padres hired Brdar as their hitting coach. [5] [6] After one season with the Padres,the Detroit Tigers hired Brdar to be their hitting coach. [7]
Patrick Edward Dobson,Jr. was an American right-handed starting pitcher in Major League Baseball who played for the Detroit Tigers (1967–69),San Diego Padres (1970),Baltimore Orioles (1971–72),Atlanta Braves (1973),New York Yankees (1973–75) and Cleveland Indians (1976–77). He was best known for being one of four Orioles pitchers to win 20 games in their 1971 season.
David Ray Roberts,nicknamed "Doc",is an American professional baseball manager and former outfielder who is the manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played for five MLB teams over a ten-year career and then coached for the San Diego Padres before being named Dodgers manager in 2016. Although he played for the Boston Red Sox for only part of one season,his most notable achievement as a player was a key stolen base in the 2004 ALCS that ignited the Red Sox's drive to their historic championship that year. Bruce Douglas Bochy,nicknamed "Boch" and "Headly",is an American professional baseball manager and former catcher who is the current manager of the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He managed the San Diego Padres from 1995 to 2006,and the San Francisco Giants from 2007 to 2019. During his playing career,Bochy was a catcher for the Houston Astros,New York Mets,and San Diego Padres. Prior to becoming the Giants' manager,he was the Padres' manager for 12 seasons. Bochy led the Giants to three World Series championships,and previously led the Padres to one World Series appearance. Bochy is the 11th manager in MLB history to achieve 2,000 wins.
