Michele Yvette Abbate (born March 9,1988) is an American professional racing driver. She competes in the Trans-Am Series' West Coast Championship TA2 class for GRR Racing.
Much of Abbate's career has come in road racing,where she has four championships. She has also raced in the Sports Car Club of America and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
Abbate's started in hobby kart racing. After getting her first car at the age of 16 in 2004,Abbate competed in local autocross events sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America. Her first national event came iat Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego in 2007,where she finished on the podium. [1] [2]
In 2008,she moved to time attack competitions and occasionally competed in INEX legends car racing where she developed her road racing experience. In 2011,Abbate became a factory driver for Scion and finished runner-up in the 2011 National Auto Sport Association Time Trial standings,followed by winning the MotoIQ Pacific Tuner Car Championship the next year. Abbate started competing in the United States Touring Car Championship in 2014 for GRR Racing,a team formed by Abbate and her fiancéAnthony Philleo after she lost her original sponsor. She entered the 2015 SCCA Western Conference Majors Tour after receiving $13,000 in crowdfunding,where she won the championship and became the first female driver to be given the Lindley Bothwell Memorial Cal Club Driver of the Year Award. In 2017,Abbate raced in the Bathurst 6 Hour,where she finished 49th. [5] The following year,she finished on the GT-1 podium in the SCCA National Championship Runoffs at Sonoma Raceway,the youngest woman to accomplish the feat. [6] [7]
GRR Racing switched to the Trans-Am Series' TA2 class for the 2019 season. [6] In 2020,she finished second in the Trans-Am West Coast Championship with four top-five finishes in five races. [8] At Sonoma,she became the first woman to finish on the podium in a TA2 race after taking third. [9]
In May 2021,Abbate joined On Point Motorsports for her NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at Circuit of the Americas;she finished second at the track in the Trans-Am West Coast Championship in 2020. [7]
Abbate's older brother Michael competed in karting. [1]
She graduated from the University of Nevada,Las Vegas in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in communications and marketing. [2]

The Trans-Am Series presented by Pirelli is a sports car racing series held in North America. Founded in 1966, it is sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). Primarily based in the United States, the series competes on a variety of track types including road courses and street circuits. Trans-Am is split into the TA and TA2 classes for silhouette racing cars, while its production classes are the GT, SGT, and XGT.
Tony Ave is a race car driver born in Hurley, Wisconsin, USA. He competed in the Grand-Am Series from 2000 until 2002, in Formula Atlantic from 1996 until 2001, and in the Trans-Am Series since 2009. He also made three Indy Lights starts in 1993 and one Indy Pro Series start in 2003. He also has sporadic starts in NASCAR as a road course ringer.

Michael John Borkowski is an American race car driver. Borkowski has raced in a variety of cars and series, is experienced in both road and oval racing, but is best known for his victory over Tommy Kendall in the 1997 Trans-Am Series race at Pikes Peak International Raceway, ending Kendall's historic run of 11 consecutive race wins. Borkowski also went on to win the final race of the 1997 Trans-Am Series at the Reno Grand Prix.
Tomy Drissi is an American professional stock and sports car racing driver, and an advertising executive in the movie industry. A long-time competitor in the Sports Car Club of America's Trans-Am Series, he was the series' 2009 Champion.
Cameron Lawrence is an American professional racing driver and 2015 North American Endurance Cup (NAEC) champion in the GTD class in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
Melvin D. Shaw was an American racing driver. Shaw raced in various series and races such as the 24 Hours of Daytona. Shaw died in a crash at Brainerd International Raceway.
Michael B. Skeen is an American professional sports car racing driver. He competes in the IMSA SportsCar Championship driving the No. 021 Triarsi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3.
On Point Motorsports was an American professional stock car racing team that fielded the No. 30 Toyota Tundra part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for multiple drivers.

The Mission Foods Austin Speedtour called for sponsorship reasons, is a Trans-Am Race that was held for the first time in the 2015 Trans-Am Series at Circuit of the Americas and was added as an expansion to the schedule. The race is usually held on October or November in the Trans-Am Series schedule. The race is scheduled with the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association for the weekend. The West Coast Championship race has been added along the National Championship race since 2017 making Circuit of the Americas one of the tracks to host both events on the same weekend. Circuit of the Americas provided the closest finish in Trans-Am history, it was in the 2018 TA2 race when Gar Robinson passed Misha Goikhberg at the COTA Muscle Car Challenge by .064 seconds. There was another record made when 52 cars field the 2021 COTA TA2 race. The track has been part of two championships clinching races in the TA2 class. COTA has hosted once the season finale and that was in 2021. The race is held under The Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli name, it is sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing owned by Parella Motorsports Holdings (PMH)
Brent Crews is an American professional dirt track, sports car and stock car racing driver. He competes part time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 1 Toyota Tundra for Tricon Garage, part-time in the ARCA Menards Series and ARCA Menards Series West, driving the No. 18 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing, as well as part-time in the ARCA Menards Series East, driving the Nos. 81 and 18 Toyota Camrys for JGR.
