Michelle Lischinsky (born August 15, 1974) is a Canadian former swimmer who specialized in backstroke events. [1]
She represented Canada, as a 25-year-old, at the 2000 Summer Olympics. She also trained for the Manitoba Swim Club under her longtime coach and mentor Vlastimil Černý, a Czech-born swimmer who competed in the 100-metre butterfly at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. [2]
Lischinsky competed only in two swimming events at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. She finished behind her teammate Kelly Stefanyshyn from the Olympic Trials in Montreal with a FINA A-cut of 1:02.89. [3] [4] In the 100-metre backstroke, Lischinsky failed to qualify for the top 8 final, as she finished her semifinal run in a thirteenth-seeded time of 1:02.55. [5] [6] [7] Six days later, in the 4×100-metre medley relay, the Canadians managed to settle for sixth place in the final at 4:07.55. [8] Teaming with Christin Petelski, Jen Button, and Laura Nicholls in the prelims, Lischinsky led off a backstroke leg and recorded a split of 1:03.32. [9]

Siobhan Trichelle Cropper is a 2-time Olympian and swimmer from Trinidad and Tobago, who specialized in sprint freestyle and butterfly events. Cropper represented Trinidad and Tobago in two editions of the Olympic Games, and eventually captured the 100 m butterfly title at the 1998 Central American and Caribbean Games in Maracaibo, Venezuela. She represented Poland, as a 17-year-old, at the 2000 Summer Olympics, and also held numerous Polish records, long or short course, in a backstroke double, until they were all broken by Zuzanna Mazurek in 2008 and Alicja Tchorz in 2012.

She represented Indonesia at the 2000 Summer Olympics, and later captured a bronze medal in the 100 m backstroke at the 2003 Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam. She is also a third eldest sister of Muhammad Akbar Nasution, an elite breaststroke and medley swimmer, who competed with her at the Olympics as part of the Indonesian squad. Nasution is divorced from her husband Ricky Subagja, a prominent badminton player and 1996 Olympic doubles champion.
Praphalsai "Waen" Minpraphal is a Thai former swimmer, who specialized in butterfly, but also competed in backstroke and individual medley. She represented Thailand in all three editions of the Olympic Games since 1992, and earned numerous medals in her own specialties at the Southeast Asian Games since 1991. While residing in the United States on her college career, she helped the California Golden Bears set a new world record (1:49.23) and capture the 4×50 m medley title at the 2000 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. Minpraphal is among the Asian swimmers, along with Joscelin Yeo of Singapore and Akiko Thomson of the Philippines, to train for the Bears under women's head coach Teri McKeever.
Robbie Taylor is a Canadian former swimmer who specialized in sprint freestyle and backstroke events. He earned a silver medal, as a 17-year-old at the 1998 Commonwealth Games, and later represented Canada at the 2000 Summer Olympics. During his sporting career, Taylor trained for the Cobra Swim Club in Brampton, Ontario, under Bill O'Toole, swam for the Texas A&M Aggies swimming and diving team under head coach Mel Nash, and swam at the Canadian National Sport Centre under legendary coach Paul Bergen.
