Microcheila is a genus in the ground beetle family Carabidae. There are at least two described species in Microcheila, found in Madagascar. [1] [2]
These two species belong to the genus Microcheila:
Schizodactylidae is a family of orthopteran insects found in Asia and southern Africa, known as dune crickets or splay-footed crickets. They are usually found in desert and sandy areas. Species are predatory, including Schizodactylus inexspectatus. T. B. Fletcher notes that one captive individual did not feed on any vegetable matter. Fossils are known since the Early Cretaceous.
Zaprochilus, the twig-mimicking katydids, is a genus of bush crickets or katydids in the subfamily Zaprochilinae. They are found in Australia.
Heteracantha is a genus of carabids in the beetle family Carabidae. This genus has a single species, Heteracantha depressa. It is found in North Africa and southwest Asia.
Cryptobatis is a genus in the ground beetle family Carabidae. There are about eight described species in Cryptobatis, found in Central and South America.
Stenocrepis is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae, containing the following 31 species:
Strigia is a genus in the ground beetle family Carabidae. There are at least three described species in Strigia.
Glyptus is a genus in the ground beetle family Carabidae. There are at least two described species in Glyptus, found in Africa.
Coptia is a genus in the ground beetle family Carabidae. There are at least four described species in Coptia. They are found in Mexico, Central America, and South America.
Sphaerostylus is a genus in the ground beetle family Carabidae. There are about 15 described species in Sphaerostylus, found in Africa.
Teratodes, commonly known as hooded grasshoppers, is a genus of grasshopper native to India and Sri Lanka. It was established by the French entomologist Gaspard Auguste Brullé in 1835.
Pterostichinae is a subfamily of ground beetles. It belongs to the advanced harpaline assemblage, and if these are circumscribed sensu lato as a single subfamily, Pterostichinae are downranked to a tribe Pterostichini. However, as the former Pterostichitae supertribe of the Harpalinae as loosely circumscribed does seem to constitute a lineage rather distinct from Harpalus, its core group is here considered to be the present subfamily and the Harpalinae are defined more narrowly.
Catapiesis is a genus in the ground beetle family Carabidae. There are about eight described species in Catapiesis, found in Mexico, Central America, and South America.
Hemitelestus is a genus of carabids in the beetle family Carabidae. There are at least two described species in Hemitelestus, found in Madagascar.
Euchroa is a genus in the ground beetle family Carabidae. There are more than 30 described species in Euchroa, found mainly in Central and South America, including Caribbean islands.
Eudromus is a genus in the beetle family Carabidae. There are about six described species in Eudromus, found in Madagascar.
Pachymorphus is a genus in the ground beetle family Carabidae. There are about 14 described species in Pachymorphus, found in South America.
Crossocerus is a genus of square-headed wasps in the family Crabronidae. There are at least 250 described species in Crossocerus.
Berytinus is a genus of stilt bugs in the family Berytidae. There are about 12 described species in Berytinus.
Ceraleptus is a genus of leaf-footed bugs, in the family Coreidae. There are about nine described species in Ceraleptus.
The infraorder Tridactylidea has a single extant superfamily which includes pygmy mole crickets; they are thought to represent living representatives of the most basal Caelifera: the Orthopteran suborder that includes grasshoppers.
