Middletown Historic District is a national historic district located at Middletown, New Castle County, Delaware. It encompasses 187 contributing buildings in the central business district and surrounding residential areas of Middletown. It is centered on the Middletown crossroads established in the 17th century. Residential buildings include notable examples of the Late Victorian and Federal styles. Notable non-residential buildings include the Witherspoon Inn (1761), S. M. Reynolds and Company (1871), Delaware Trust Company (1918), People's National Bank (1884), and Forest Presbyterian Church (1851). Also located in the district is the separately listed Middletown Academy or Town Hall (1827). [2]

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. [1]

The district includes much of Union, Federal, Broad, Chestnut, and Mill Streets, and encompasses a wide variety of residential, commercial, and institutional buildings from the late-18th century to the early-20th century. Union, Broad and Chestnut Streets include many examples of Gothic Revival and vernacular building styles popular in the 19th century, while Federal Street is noted for larger homes that include many Second Empire, Queen Anne, and Federal style homes, as well as Gothic Revival and vernacular styles. South Wedge Historic District is a national historic district and neighborhood located in southeast Rochester, Monroe County, New York. The district encompasses 434 contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Rochester. The district includes a variety of residential buildings built primarily between the 1840s and 1920s, and consists mainly of two-story detached houses built as single-family or two-family residences. The architecture is primarily vernacular with a few examples of high-style Italianate and Queen Anne style residences. Located in the district are the separately listed Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church and Nazareth House. Other notable buildings include the St. Boniface Church complex, the former School 13, the former School 28, and former Engine Company No. 8.

Elmwood Historic District–East is a national historic district located at Buffalo, Erie County, New York. The district encompasses 2,405 contributing buildings, 31 contributing structures, and 14 contributing objects in the Elmwood Village neighborhood of Buffalo. It is bounded on the north by Delaware Park, Forest Lawn Cemetery, and the former Buffalo State Asylum, on the south by the Allentown Historic District, and on the west by the Elmwood Historic District–West. This predominantly residential district developed between about 1867 and 1965, and includes notable examples of Queen Anne, Shingle Style, Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, and American Craftsman style architecture. The district contains one of the most intact collections of built resources from turn of the 20th century in the city of Buffalo and western New York State. The Palmerton Historic District is a national historic district located in Palmerton, Carbon County, Pennsylvania. Bordered roughly by Tomb Street, Avenue A, 8th Street, and Harvard Avenue, it encompasses 1,262 contributing buildings, seven contributing structures, and four contributing sites, as well as 475 noncontributing buildings and 13 noncontributing sites where previously demolished resources had been located. Usage functions range from commercial and industrial to institutional to residential in nature. This district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 19, 2018 in recognition of its significance in community planning and development.
