Midwest Athletic Conference

The Midwest Athletic Conference is an OHSAA athletic league located in North-West Ohio formed in 1972. The Midwest Athletic Conference (MAC) is among the elite small school conferences in the nation.

State championships

The Midwest Athletic Conference has proven to be one of the most competitive in the state of Ohio. Since the inception of the conference in 1973, the 10 member teams have been crowned state champions 150 times. All 10 MAC members have all won a team state title. The MAC has a total of 74 total state championships in boys sports (44 in football) and 76 girls team state championships. Members of the conference won 20 additional state championships before the MAC was established or before schools became members of the MAC.

The Northwest Conference is an OHSAA athletic league located in northwest Ohio and includes schools in Allen, Hardin, Putnam, Shelby and Van Wert counties. The NWC originally formed in 1947. The Northwest Conference currently awards championships in 10 Varsity sports: baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf (boys), softball, soccer (girls), track, volleyball, and wrestling.

Centered in Lima, Ohio, the Western Buckeye League is an OHSAA athletic league located in northwest Ohio and includes schools in Allen, Auglaize, Defiance, Hardin, Mercer, Putnam, and Van Wert counties. The league's school district boundaries also include portions of Logan, Paulding, Shelby, and Wyandot counties. The WBL originally formed in 1936 and is one of the oldest high school conferences in the state. The Western Buckeye League currently awards championships in 13 Varsity sports: baseball, basketball, bowling, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track, volleyball, and wrestling. An academic bowl tournament for the schools in the league began annually in 2004.

St. Henry High School is a public high school located in St. Henry, Ohio, United States. It is part of the St. Henry Consolidated Local Schools district. The school's teams are nicknamed the Redskins. The school is a member of the Midwest Athletic Conference.

Marion Local High School is a public high school located in Maria Stein, in Mercer County, Ohio's Marion Township. It currently has approximately 286 students enrolled. The students are from Maria Stein and several surrounding communities, including Cassella, Chickasaw, St. Rose and St. Sebastian in Mercer County, Osgood in Darke County, as well as a small portion of Auglaize County. These communities were served by a series of local one-room school houses that still stand in Chickasaw, Minster, St. Rose and St. Sebastian. In 1922 a 2-year high school was established in Maria Stein and in 1930 a 3-story brick school was completed directly across from St. John's Church. Coldwater High School is a public high school located in Coldwater, Ohio. It is part of Coldwater Exempted Village Schools.

St. John's High School is a Roman Catholic private high school located in Delphos, Ohio, United States. It is located in Allen County, and is part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Toledo. The school's mascot is the Blue Jay. The school is associated with the Midwest Athletic Conference for sports.

New Knoxville High School is a public high school located in New Knoxville, Ohio. It is the only high school in the New Knoxville Local School district.

Saint Paul High School is a private, Catholic high school located in Norwalk, Ohio. It is part of Norwalk Catholic Schools, a K-12 organization of schools and parishes in Norwalk and neighboring Milan. SPHS has a current enrollment of 199 students and is one of fourteen high schools in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Toledo. The athletic teams are called the Flyers.

Pandora-Gilboa High School is a state technology prototype public high school centered in Pandora, Ohio. It is the only high school and school in the Pandora-Gilboa Local School district. The district serves students from Pandora, Gilboa, and parts of Riley, Blanchard, and Pleasant townships in Putnam County. The school district origins begin with Pandora High School,which was the first rural consolidated school district in the state combining Pandora Village Schools and Riley Township Schools and the historic school of Crawfis College. The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) is a college athletic conference affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division II level. It was named the 24th NCAA Division II conference and operates in the Great Lakes and East South Central States regions of the United States. The G-MAC began conference play in the 2012–13 academic year hosting 12 championships and continued to work through the educational assessment program. The conference received approval and became an active Division II conference in 2013–14, hosting 17 championships.

Steve Vagedes is a retired professional football player that played in the Arena Football League and was a multiple time college football All-American.
