Mikaylah Williams (born July 8, 2005) is an American college basketball player for the LSU Tigers of the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
Williams played basketball for Parkway High School in Bossier City, Louisiana. She also competed in softball and track and field during high school. In her junior basketball season, she earned Louisiana Miss Basketball and Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year honors after helping her team reach the Class 5A state title game. [1] As a senior, Williams led Parkway to the non-select Division I state championship, leaving as the school's all-time leading scorer. She was named Morgan Wootten National Player of the Year and repeated as Louisiana Miss Basketball and Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year. [2] [3] [4] Williams played in the McDonald's All-American Game and the Nike Hoop Summit. [5]
In middle school, Williams committed to play college softball for Louisiana and received basketball scholarship offers from LSU, Ole Miss and Arkansas. [6] By the end of high school, she was considered a five-star recruit and the number two player in her class by ESPN. [7] On June 24, 2022, Williams committed to play college basketball for LSU over offers from Ole Miss, Baylor, Duke and Texas A&M. [8]
On November 6, 2023, Williams made her debut for LSU, scoring 17 points in a 92–78 loss to Colorado. [9] On November 14, she scored 42 points, breaking the program single-game freshman record, in a 109–79 win over Kent State. It was the highest-scoring performance by an LSU player since Cornelia Gayden in 1996. [10]
Williams played for the United States at the 2022 FIBA Under-17 Women's Basketball World Cup in Hungary. She averaged 8.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists, helping her team win the gold medal. [11]
In 3x3 basketball, Williams led the United States to three gold medals at the FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup, being named MVP of each tournament from 2021 to 2023. [12] She was named USA Basketball 3x3 Athlete of the Year in 2022. [13]
Williams' parents both played college basketball: her mother, LaTonya, for Northwestern State, and her father, Patrick, for Bossier Parish Community College. Her younger brother, Kaleb, plays basketball and football for Parkway High School as a one star recruit. [6]
Kimberly Duane Mulkey is an American college basketball coach and former player. Since 2021, she has been the head coach for Louisiana State University's women's basketball team. A Pan-American gold medalist in 1983 and Olympic gold medalist in 1984, she is the first coach in NCAA basketball history to win national championships as a player, assistant coach, and head coach. Since the inception of the NCAA women's tournament in 1982, Mulkey has participated as a player or coach every year except 1985 and 2003.
Seimone Delicia Augustus is an American former professional basketball player who is one of the most recognizable faces in the WNBA. After retiring as a player in 2020, she was an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) for two seasons. She was drafted first overall by the Minnesota Lynx in the 2006 draft; and played for the Lynx for most of her WNBA career except for her final season in 2020 with the Los Angeles Sparks. An eight-time All-Star and the 2011 finals MVP, Augustus led the Lynx to four WNBA championships. She also won three gold medals in the Olympics on the U.S. national team.
Dana "Pokey" Chatman is currently an assistant coach for the Seattle Storm in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Chatman is the former head coach of the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky of the WNBA. She is also the former head coach of the LSU Lady Tigers basketball team and the Spartak Moscow women's basketball team.
Ann Elise Strother is an American basketball coach, and former professional player, most recently for the Indiana Fever. Strother played at the collegiate level for the Connecticut Huskies, helping the team to two national titles.
Sylvia Shaqueria Fowles is an American former professional basketball player. Fowles played for the Chicago Sky and Minnesota Lynx during her WNBA career. She won the WNBA MVP Award in 2017 and the WNBA Defensive Player of the Year award four times. She led the Lynx to win the WNBA Championship in 2015 and 2017, and she was named the MVP of the WNBA Finals both times. In 2020, Fowles overtook Rebekkah Brunson to become the WNBA's career leader in rebounds.

The USA Women's 3x3 Teams are two of the teams under the auspices of the USA Basketball organization. In 2007, FIBA decided to start championships for the 3x3 event, starting in 2010. Two events are held, one for athletes under 18 years of age and one open event. The under 18 event (U18) is held every year, although in every fourth year, starting with 2010, the event is part of the Youth Olympic Games. The open events are held every other year, in even-numbered years, starting in 2012.
Parkway High School is a class 5A public high school located just outside of Bossier City, Louisiana, United States. The school is under the directory of the Bossier Parish School Board, and is currently under the administration of Principal Steven Vrbka. Parkway was ranked as a "Top Gains School" by the Louisiana Department of Education in 2012.
