The Minhas Craft Brewery is located in Monroe, Wisconsin, owned by brother and sister, Ravinder and Manjit Minhas. [2] It is the Midwest's oldest brewery and the second oldest in the United States. [3] It survived the Great Depression, Prohibition and a fire. [4] It is currently the 18th largest craft brewery in America. [5]
The Minhas Craft Brewery produces a variety of over 233 [6] beers, spirits, liqueurs and wines. [7] Their products are shipped across Canada, the U.S. and 16 other countries worldwide [8] (including: Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, England, Finland, Guam, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Norway, Panama and Trinidad). [9] The facility offers daily brewery tours and beer tastings. [10] It also houses the largest brewery memorabilia museum in the United States. [11]
This brewery is one of the alcohol manufacturing companies owned by the Minhas siblings – collectively designated as Minhas Brewery- that generate more than $155 million in revenue annually. [12] The other companies under the Minhas Brewery umbrella are: Minhas Micro Brewery in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; Minhas Distillery in Monroe, WI; and Pizza Brew Restaurant in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Minhas Craft Brewery opened in 1845 as the Monroe Brewing Company under the ownership of Mr. Bissinger. [4] Since opening the brewery and property ownership changed hands ten times [4] until the Minhas Siblings purchased it in 2006. [2] Prior to the Minhas purchase the brewery was known as Joseph Huber Brewing Company. Upon acquisition Ravinder and Manjit Minhas changed the name to the Minhas Craft Brewery. [13]
In 2021, the brewery partnered with the Nelk entertainment group to produce Happy Dad hard seltzer.
Minhas Craft Brewery packages beer, soda and alcopops in 236 mL, 355 mL, 473 mL and 710 mL aluminum cans; 207 mL, 330 mL, 650 mL and 1,183 mL glass bottles, and a variety of polyethylene terephthalate bottles. [9]

Dock Street Brewing Company is an independent craft brewing company with a 10,500 square foot brewpub and production brewery in the Point Breeze neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA, and a 1,000 square foot tasting room in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia. Established in 1985, it claims to be the first craft brewing company based in the Philadelphia area following Prohibition and one of the first in the country. The name Dock Street was chosen in honor of the seaport district of the same name in Philadelphia, which was the largest producer of beer in the then newly-formed United States in the late 1700s.
Tractor Brewing Company is a New Mexico-based brewery, founded in 1999 in Los Lunas and since 2014 located in Albuquerque. Tractor beers have won awards at the New Mexico State Fair Pro-Am Competition.
Manjit Minhas is a Canadian entrepreneur, television personality and venture capitalist. She is co-owner of Minhas Breweries & Distillery, manufacturer of beer brands such as Mountain Crest Classic Lager, Boxer Lager, Lazy Mutt Ale and Huber Bock. She specializes in marketing with interests in branding and sales. Minhas was announced as one of the new dragons on Season 10 of the Canadian reality television series Dragons' Den in 2015 for its tenth season. According to the Dragons Den website she has "been recognized for several business industry awards such as PROFIT magazine's "Top Growth Entrepreneur", Top 100 Women Entrepreneurs in Canada, Canada's Top 40 under 40, Chatelaine Magazine's "Top Entrepreneur Woman of The Year 2011", Ernst and Young's Entrepreneur of The Year Prairie Region and The Sikh Centennial Foundation Award 2015." Minhas's philanthropic causes include The United Way, which she co-chaired in 2017 and an engineering school for girls in India. Minhas joined the ATB Financial Board of Directors in 2017 and is on both the Governance and Conduct Review, and the Human Resources Committees. She joined the Calgary Airport Authority Board of Directors in 2020.
The Great Australasian Beer SpecTAPular, or GABS as it is commonly known, is a beer and food festival that celebrates the diversity and creativity of craft beer. It is run by The Local Taphouse beer bars each year in Melbourne and Sydney and in 2015, almost 23,000 people attended the events.
