The Northern Territory Minister for Aboriginal Affairs is a Minister of the Crown in the Government of the Northern Territory. The minister administers their portfolio through the Department of the Chief Minister. [1]

The Minister is responsible for Aboriginal affairs policy and coordination and the Office of Aboriginal Affairs. [1]

The current minister is Selena Uibo (Labor). She was sworn in on 31 January 2019 [2] following the dismissal of Ken Vowles on 21 December 2018 for breaking Cabinet confidentiality. [3]

The most recent election for the Legislative Assembly was the 2020 election held on 22 August 2020. The next election is scheduled for 24 August 2024.

She was a member of the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly from 2001 to 2012, representing the electorate of Arafura. She was the Labor Party Deputy Chief Minister of the Northern Territory from November 2007 until February 2009, and was the highest-ranked Indigenous Australian woman in government in Australia's history. She was also the first Indigenous woman to be elected to the Northern Territory legislature.

The 2020 Northern Territory general election was held on 22 August 2020 to elect all 25 members of the Legislative Assembly in the unicameral Northern Territory Parliament.

The Martin Ministry was the ministry of the seventh Chief Minister of the Northern Territory, Clare Martin. It was sworn in on 27 August 2001 after Martin's victory 2001 election. In addition to Martin as the first ever female Chief Minister, it also included the first ever indigenous minister in Jack Ah Kit. Martin served until November 2007, when she was succeeded by her deputy, Paul Henderson.
