Minister for Housing is a position in the government of Western Australia, currently held by John Carey of the Labor Party. The position was first created after the 1947 state election, for the government of Sir Ross McLarty, and has existed in every government since then. The minister is responsible for the state government's Department of Communities, as well as several other government agencies.

Joseph Benedict Chifley was an Australian politician who served as the 16th prime minister of Australia from 1945 to 1949. He held office as the leader of the Australian Labor Party (ALP).
Henry Daglish was an Australian politician who was the sixth premier of Western Australia and the first from the Australian Labor Party, serving from 10 August 1904 to 25 August 1905. Born in Ballarat, Victoria, Daglish studied at the University of Melbourne. In 1882, he worked as a mechanical engineer, but soon switched to working in the Victorian public service. He first stood for election in 1896, but was unsuccessful in winning the Victorian Legislative Assembly seat of Melbourne South. He then moved to Subiaco, Western Australia, gaining work as a chief clerk in the WA Police Department. In 1900, Daglish was elected to the Subiaco Municipal Council. On 24 April 1901, Daglish was elected as the member for the newly created seat of Subiaco, becoming one of six Labor members in the Western Australian Legislative Assembly. He was elected by the party as its whip, and he tendered his resignation from the Subiaco council on 1 May 1901. On 1 December 1902, he was sworn in as mayor of Subiaco, having been elected the previous month.
Philip Bruce Goff is a New Zealand politician who has been the Mayor of Auckland since 2016. Previously, he was a Member of the New Zealand Parliament from 1981 to 1990 and again from 1993 to 2016. He served as Leader of the Labour Party and Leader of the Opposition between 11 November 2008 and 13 December 2011.
Brian Thomas Burke is a former Australian politician, who was the premier of Western Australia for the Labor Party from 25 February 1983 until his resignation on 25 February 1988. He was imprisoned for seven months in 1994, after being convicted of "false pretence" regarding travel expenses.
From the turn of the 20th century, women have had the right to stand for parliament and participate in government in Australia. Following federation, the government of the newly formed Commonwealth of Australia passed the Commonwealth Franchise Act 1902 allowing most women to both vote and stand at the 1903 Federal election. South Australia and Western Australia granted women the vote before federation, and the states of New South Wales, Tasmania, Queensland and Victoria also passed legislation allowing women to participate in government at the state and local levels following federation. Indigenous Australian women did not achieve suffrage at all levels of government and in all states and territories until 1962.

Troy Raymond Buswell is a former Australian politician who was a Liberal member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly from 2005 to 2014, representing the seat of Vasse. He was Treasurer of Western Australia in the Barnett Ministry from 2008 to 2010 and from 2012 to 2014, and also held several other portfolios.
Kim Desmond Hames is an Australian politician who was a Liberal Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 1993 to 2001 and from 2005 to 2017. He served as a minister in the governments of Richard Court and Colin Barnett, and was deputy premier to Barnett from 2008 to 2016. Hames retired from parliament at the 2017 state election.
The Minister for Local Government is a position in the Cabinet of Western Australia, first created in 1949 during the McLarty–Watts Ministry. The minister, who may also hold other portfolios, is responsible for the relationships between the state government and the local government areas of Western Australia, often facilitated through the WA Local Government Association (WALGA). The current Minister for Local Government is John Carey of the Labor Party, who holds the position as a member of the McGowan Ministry.
Harold Millington was an Australian politician. He was a Labor Party member of the Parliament of Western Australia; as a member of the Legislative Council for North-East Province for six years from 1914, and as a member of the Legislative Assembly from 1924 to 1947, representing the electorates of Leederville (1924–1930) and Mount Hawthorn (1930–1947). He was a long-serving state minister in the governments of Philip Collier and John Willcock, and was Deputy Premier under Willcock.

He was a minister in the governments of Philip Collier, John Willcock, and Frank Wise, and later served as Agent-General for Western Australia from 1947 until his death.
Minister for Water is a position in the government of Western Australia, currently held by Dave Kelly of the Labor Party. The position was first created in 1913, for the government of John Scaddan, and has existed in almost every government since then. The minister is responsible for the state government's Department of Water, which manage water resources in Western Australia. Until the 1930s, the responsibilities now held by the Minister for Water were often shared by two ministers, each with a different title.
Minister for Lands is a position in the government of Western Australia, currently held by John Carey of the Labor Party. The position was first created in 1870, under the name Commissioner of Crown Lands, at a time when Western Australia was still a British colony and had not yet achieved responsible government. Exception for a brief period between 2001 and 2003, it has existed in every government since then. The minister is currently responsible for the state government's Land Use Management division comprising part of the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage, which is responsible for the management of crown land in Western Australia.

The position was first created after the 1943 state election, for the government of John Willcock. It was abolished in 1947 and not recreated until 1971, but has existed in most governments since then. The minister is one of the ministers responsible for the state government's Department of Local Government and Communities.

The position was first created after the 1953 state election, for the government of Albert Hawke, and has existed in every government since then. The minister is responsible for the state government's Department of Planning, which includes the Western Australian Planning Commission.
Minister for Commerce and Industrial Relations is a position in the government of Western Australia, currently held by Roger Cook of the Labor Party. The position was first created after the 1993 state election, for the government of Richard Court. The minister is responsible for the state government's Department of Commerce.
John Newton Carey is an Australian politician. A member of the Australian Labor Party, Carey has been the member for Perth in the Western Australian Legislative Council, the lower house of the Parliament of Western Australia, since 11 March 2017. Since 19 March 2021, Carey has been the minister for housing and minister for local government. Since 21 December 2021, Carey has also been the minister for lands and minister for homelessness. From 19 October 2013 to 30 January 2017, he was the mayor of the City of Vincent.
