History
Missouri College was founded by Dr. S.L. Gilberg, D.D.S., in 1963. It was originally named the Missouri School for Doctors' Assistants in Clayton, Missouri. Gilberg was the executive director until 1966. The school introduced a Dental Assistant program in 1969. A year later, the college was accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology. In 1989, Missouri School added a Computer Office Assistant program to its new business division. The school moved to Manchester Road in 1991.
In 1993, the school was approved for degree-granting status by the Accrediting Commission of Career Colleges and Colleges to offer Associate of Occupational Studies degree programs in both health and business career fields. This expansion into business courses prompted the school to change its name from Missouri School for Doctors' Assistants to Missouri College in July 1995.
The college expanded its curriculum in 1999 when it added a Massage Therapy Program and again in 2000 with the introduction of an Information Technology Program.
In September 2002, Career Education Corporation acquired Missouri College. [2] Shortly after this purchase, Missouri College became approved as a bachelor's degree-granting institution. In 2008, Missouri College began offering online classes developed through the Missouri College Flexible Learning Model. In January 2009, Missouri College moved into a new facility on South Hanley Road, Brentwood, Missouri.
In September 2015, Career Education Corporation transferred ownership of Missouri College to Weston Educational Inc. (WEI). This transition allows the College to join a group of colleges focused on Health Career Programs. It was closed on November 1, 2016 due to financial difficulties. [2] [3]

A dental hygienist or oral hygienist is a licensed dental professional, registered with a dental association or regulatory body within their country of practice. York College is a public senior college in Jamaica in Queens, New York City. It is a senior college in the City University of New York (CUNY) system. Founded in 1966, York was the first senior college founded under the newly formed CUNY system, which united several previously independent public colleges into a single public university system in 1961. The college is a member-school of Thurgood Marshall College Fund. The college enrolls more than 8,000 students. 35% of undergraduate students graduate within six years.
Maryville University of St. Louis is a private university in Town and Country, Missouri. It was originally founded in 1872 by the Society of the Sacred Heart and offers more than 90 degrees at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels to students from 50 states and 47 countries. The school's name is derived from the shortening and altering of "Mary's Villa" when the school opened as an all women-school in the country outside of the order's original downtown St. Louis location in 1872. In 1961 it moved to suburban St. Louis and in 1968 began admitting men. Since 1972 the university has been governed by a board of trustees consisting mostly of members of the laity, although five of the trustees are always associated with the Society of the Sacred Heart. The school's athletic nickname is now the Saints.
Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is a private university focused on medical and health-related science programs and located in the Longwood Medical and Academic Area of Boston, Massachusetts. The university provides traditional and accelerated programs of study focused on professional education in pharmacy and the health sciences. Since 2000, MCPHS University has expanded to include two additional campuses, located in Worcester, Massachusetts, and Manchester, New Hampshire.
The Texas A&M Health Science Center, a component of Texas A&M University, offers health professions research and education in dentistry, medicine, nursing, biomedical sciences, public health, and pharmacy. It was established in 1999 as an independent institution of the Texas A&M University System and received accreditation in December 2002 from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate, master’s, doctoral and professional degrees. The institution merged with Texas A&M University proper on July 12, 2013.
San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC) is a private for-profit junior college with fifteen campuses in California, United States and an online division. SJVC was founded in 1977 by Robert and Shirley Perry. SJVC is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges and approved by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE). Samuel Merritt University (SMU) is a private university focused on health sciences and located on the Summit campus of the Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland, California. It is an affiliate of the Sutter Health Network and Alta Bates Summit Medical Center. It is the only provider of physical therapists, occupational therapists, and physician assistants and is the largest source of nurses in the greater East Bay. Formerly known as Samuel Merritt College, it was founded in 1909 as a hospital school of nursing.

A.T. Still University (ATSU) is a private medical school based in Kirksville, Missouri, with a second campus in Arizona. It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. ATSU includes two campuses on 200 acres with six schools and colleges. West Coast University (WCU) is a private, for-profit university focused on healthcare degrees with campus locations in Los Angeles, Anaheim, and Ontario, California; Dallas, Texas; and Miami, Florida. David Pyle founded American Career College in 1979 under the name of American College of Optics. Originally the school focused only on optical dispensing. In May 1997, Pyle purchased West Coast University, which was chartered by the State of California in 1909, out of bankruptcy, and developed a program for the training of registered nurses.

The Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences (MCSHS), formerly known as Mayo School of Health Sciences (MSHS), is an accredited, private, nonprofit school of higher education specializing in allied health education.
