Mitchell White (born 28 March 1973) is a former Australian rules football (AFL) player who played for the West Coast Eagles and Geelong.
Along with Glen Jakovich, White was a priority draft choice from WA in 1990. In 1996 he was outstanding after being switched to center half forward after being a defender for his whole career. If it hadn't been for some school mates he would have probably kept playing rugby league and he did not play competitive football till his early teens. By 17 he was playing senior football for Subiaco. He played just two games for the Eagles in 1991 then advanced to be part of the 1992 flag side. A severe groin injury wrecked his 1993 and most of the 1994 season. Not a big marking player, he was very mobile and had strong hands. Although he wasn't a high-profile player he was considered to be a key performer by other clubs. He made the 1996 All-Australian team. Great stamina was his trademark. Early in 1997 he injured a knee which sidelined him for a year. White reached the position of vice-captain in 2000 but was traded at the end of the year. At Geelong in 2001 he was an effective forward but only managed 7 games in the next two seasons which signaled his retirement.

Selected by West Coast during the 1995 draft period, Wirrpanda made his debut for the club during the following season. From Perth, Western Australia, Nicoski first played for Subiaco in the West Australian Football League (WAFL), before being recruited by West Coast in the 2003 Rookie Draft. Promoted from the rookie list prior to the 2004 season, he made his debut for the club in round five, and became a regular in the side the following season as a half-back flanker, playing in West Coast's grand final loss to Sydney. In 2006, Nicoski fractured an ankle midway through the season, and thus missed out on playing in the club's premiership victory. Over the next seasons, shoulder and groin injuries restricted his time on the field, but in 2011 he took up a different role in the team, kicking 41 goals playing as a forward. Nicoski also represented Australia in the 2011 International Rules Series. However, after serious injuries, including a torn hamstring during the final of the 2012 pre-season tournament, he did not play at AFL level over the following two seasons. Having played 112 games for West Coast, Nicoski retired from the AFL at the end of the 2013 season.

Rivalries in the Australian Football League exist between many teams, most of which typically draw large crowds and interest regardless of both teams' positions on the ladder. The AFL encourages the building of such rivalries, as a method of increasing publicity for the league, to the point of designating one round each year as "Rivalry Round" when many of these match-ups are held on the one weekend. Whilst some rivalries, such as between teams from adjacent areas, are still strong, the designation of an entire round of fixtures as a Rivalry Round is often criticised due to some arbitrary match-ups, or ignoring stronger and more recent rivalries.
