Mohammad Naveed (born 3 June 1987) is a cricketer who played for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team. [1] He made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Afghanistan on 2 May 2014 [2] and his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut against Scotland in the 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament on 9 July 2015. [3] In January 2019, he captained the UAE for the first time in an ODI, in their home series against Nepal. [4] In March 2021, Naveed was found guilty of corruption and banned from all cricket for eight years. [5]
In January 2018, Naveed was named in the UAE squad for the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament. [6]
On 4 March 2018, in the UAE's match against Papua New Guinea in the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier, Naveed took his first five-wicket haul in an ODI. [7] The UAE won the match by 56 runs, and Naveed was named the man of the match. [8] On 22 March 2018, in the UAE's final match of the Cricket World Cup Qualifier, against Zimbabwe, Naveed took three wickets for 40 runs, and was again named the man of the match. [9] On 3 June 2018, he was selected to play for the Toronto Nationals in the players' draft for the inaugural edition of the Global T20 Canada tournament. [10] [11]
He was part of the United Arab Emirates squad for the 2018 Asia Cup Qualifier tournament. [12] In September 2018, he was named in Kandahar's squad in the first edition of the Afghanistan Premier League tournament. [13]
In December 2018, he was named in the United Arab Emirates' team for the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup. [14]
In January 2019, he was named as the captain of the United Arab Emirates' ODI squad for their series against Nepal. [15] This was after the UAE's regular captain, Rohan Mustafa, was suspended by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) for breaching the ECB's Player's Code of Conduct. [16] [17]
In June 2019, he was selected to play for the Montreal Tigers franchise team in the 2019 Global T20 Canada tournament. [18]
In September 2019, he was named as the captain of the United Arab Emirates' squad for the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament in the UAE. [19] However, the following month Naveed was withdrawn from the UAE's squad, with Ahmed Raza named as captain in his place. [20] Two days before the start of the tournament, the ICC confirmed that Naveed had been suspended, after breaching cricket's anti-corruption rules. [21] [22] In February 2020, Naveed said that he wanted to clear his name, but could face a ban of up to ten years if the corruption charges are proven. [23]
In January 2021, the ICC found him guilty of corruption in relation to attempted match-fixing. [24] In March 2021, Naveed was given an eight-year ban from playing ICC cricket, backdated to 16 October 2019, after being found guilty on charges of corruption. [25] In response to the ban, Naveed issued a statement saying that he was not involved in match-fixing and his only mistake was not reporting a corrupt approach. [26]

They are governed by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) which became an Affiliate Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 1989 and an Associate Member the following year. Ahmed Raza is a cricketer who plays for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team. Raza is a right-handed batsman who bowls slow left-arm orthodox.
Aizaz Mohammad Khan is a Hong Kong international cricketer. He debuted for the Hong Kong national side in 2009, and has since played regularly for the team. He is a graduate of Islamic Kasim Tuet Memorial College.
Sompal Kami is a Nepalese professional cricketer. Kami is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast-medium bowler. In January 2019, he became the first bowler for Nepal to take a five-wicket haul in an ODI. He represents the Nepal Army Club of the National League, Jagdamba Giants of the Nepal Premier League, and New Horizon College, which plays in the SPA Cup.
Shaiman Anwar Butt is a former cricketer who played for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team. A powerful right-handed top-order batsman, he made his debut for the United Arab Emirates national side in December 2010, having previously represented Sialkot and Servis Industries in Pakistani domestic tournaments. In March 2021, Shaiman was found guilty of corruption and banned from all cricket for eight years.
Rohan Mustafa is a Pakistani-born cricketer who has played for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team since 2007. He is a former national captain, and plays as a left-handed batsman and right-arm off-spin bowler.
The 2018 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier was a cricket tournament that took place during March 2018 in Zimbabwe. It formed the final part of the Cricket World Cup qualification process for the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales. The top two teams, Afghanistan national cricket team and the West Indies, qualified for the World Cup, joining the hosts and the seven teams who had already qualified through their ranking in the ICC ODI Championship. Afghanistan won the tournament, beating the West Indies by 7 wickets in the final. Afghanistan’s Mohommad Shahzad was named the player of the match and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza was named the player of the tournament.

Muhammad Usman is a Pakistani-born cricketer who plays for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team. He made his first-class debut against the Netherlands in the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup on 21 January 2016. Usman's List A debut was also against the Netherlands, in the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship, on 27 January 2016. His Twenty20 International debut too was against the Netherlands on 3 February 2016. Ghulam Shabber is a Pakistani-born cricketer who played for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team. He made his List A debut in the UAE's three-match series against Oman in October 2016. He retired from cricket in October 2019, mid-way through the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament, and in September 2021, he was handed a four-year ban from the sport in relation to corruption.

He made his List A debut for Nepal in the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament on 8 February 2018. He was inspired to play cricket after Nepal played in the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 in Bangladesh. In January 2019, Kumar became the youngest male cricketer to score an international half-century. The record was broken in February 2020 by his teammate Kushal Malla. He is the all-time highest run scorer for Nepal in the ODI format and the first Nepalese player to score 1,000 runs in ODI cricket. He was named captain of the Nepal cricket team in November 2022.
The 2019 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier was a cricket tournament held during October and November 2019 in the United Arab Emirates to determine the teams that would qualify for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup tournament. The six teams finishing highest in the qualifier tournament joined Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the first group stage of the 2020 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The tournament formed part of the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier series, with the Netherlands winning the final.
The Nepal cricket team toured the United Arab Emirates in January and February 2019 to play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches, with all the fixtures taking place at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai.
