Monash University is a public research university based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Named for prominent World War I general Sir John Monash, it was founded in 1958 and is the second oldest university in the state. The university has a number of campuses, four of which are in Victoria, and one in Malaysia. Monash also has a research and teaching centre in Prato, Italy, a graduate research school in Mumbai, India and graduate schools in Suzhou, China and Tangerang, Indonesia. Monash University courses are also delivered at other locations, including South Africa.

Prior to embarking on a career in academic research, he worked for a number of pharmaceutical companies in the USA.

The College of Pharmacy was founded in 1923 and is located on the university's Gainesville, Florida main campus. Arthur Christopoulos is an Australian Professor of Analytical Pharmacology at Monash University. He is the recipient of numerous national and international awards, including the 2013 John J. Abel Award from the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics and the Rand Medal from the Australasian Society of Clinical and Experimental Pharmacologists and Toxicologists, the 2014 IUPHAR Analytical Pharmacology Lecturer, a 2015 Doctor of Laws from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, the 2016 recipient of the Gaddum Memorial Award from the British Pharmacological Society and the 2016 GSK Award for Research Excellence. Since 2014, Clarivate Analytics has regularly named him a Highly Cited Researcher in Pharmacology and Toxicology. In 2021, Arthur was named a Highly Cited Researcher in both Pharmacology and Toxicology and Biology and Biochemistry categories. In 2017 he was elected a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences and in 2018 he was elected as a Councillor of the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology and a Fellow of the British Pharmacological Society. In 2019 he was appointed Dean of Monash University's Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and in 2021 was appointed as the inaugural Director of Monash University's Neuromedicines Discovery Centre. He was elected a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science in 2021.

He had more than half a century experience in his respective fields to his credit. He worked at the Banaras Hindu University, University of Saugar, and the Panjab University in India, and abroad at the University of Maryland, University of Mississippi and the University of London.
The USC School of Pharmacy is the pharmacy school of the University of Southern California, originally established in 1905 as USC College of Pharmacy. On November 17, 2022, the University of Southern California released an announcement stating that the school will be renamed the USC Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and will receive a $50 million endowment for student scholarships, faculty recruitment and integrating a university-wide research infrastructure related to biomedical innovation across USC’s University Park and Health Sciences campuses. The School is led by Dean Vassilios Papadopoulos.
Jonathan Baell is an Australian medicinal chemist. He is a research professor in medicinal chemistry at the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS), the Director of the Australian Translational Medicinal Chemistry Facility and a Chief Investigator at the ARC Centre for Fragment-Based Design. He is also the President of the International Chemical Biology Society. His research focuses on the early stages of drug discovery, including high-throughput screening (HTS) library design, hit-to-lead and lead optimization for the treatment of a variety of diseases, such as malaria and neglected diseases.
