Monroe Township is a township in western Nodaway County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. [1] It comprises 44 sections of land. [2] The city of Skidmore, which lies in its center, is the only settlement in the township.

Monroe Township was erected on February 12th, 1881 from parts of Green Township and Hughes Township because inhabitants complained of traveling too far to vote. [2] It was named after President James Monroe. [3]

Arkoe, the only community in the township, is its northeast just west of the One Hundred and Two River. The extinct communities of Whitecloud and Pumpkin Center both were in the center of the township.

Green Township is a township in western Nodaway County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. It contains about 67 sections of land. The now disincorporated village of Quitman lies in its center and a small hamlet named Fairview was located four miles southwest. All of Bilby Ranch Lake Conservation Area lies in its southwest.

Washington Township is a township in southeastern Nodaway County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. It contains about 47 sections. Guilford, its only community, lies west of center one mile east of the Platte River.
