Moonlee Records is an independent record label established and run since 2004 by music enthusiasts from Ljubljana, Slovenia and Zagreb, Croatia, members of bands Analena and Lunar. Its official headquarters are located in Ljubljana with a branch office in Croatia. The name of the label is a wordplay, deriving from its central mascot, Mr. Moonlee, which is portrayed as a martial artist lemon. [1] [2]

Bands gathered under Moonlee Records are predominantly coming from ex-Yugoslav area – Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Macedonia. They range from atmospheric instrumental post rock, screamo and high endurance rock. [3] [4] Some of the bands that Moonlee Records promotes are Analena, Bernays Propaganda, Debeli Precjednik / Fat Prezident, Damir Avdić, Repetitor, In-Sane, Xaxaxa, Psycho-Path, Vuneny and Don't Mess With Texas. [4] Once a year the record label organises the promotional Moonleejada Festival with an intense programme by its house bands. [1] [5]

Moonlee Records operates according to DIY principles and Moonlee Records staff gained experience playing in various bands. [3] [4]

It is considered one of the most important and influential independent record labels from this part of Europe. [5]

Slovene Home Guard

The Slovene Home Guard was a Slovene anti-Partisan military organization that was active during the 1943–1945 German occupation of the formerly Italian-occupied Province of Ljubljana. It consisted of former Village Sentries, part of Italian-sponsored Anti-Communist Volunteer Militia, re-organized under Nazi command after the Italian Armistice.

The Slovenian Intelligence and Security Agency is the main civilian intelligence service in the Republic of Slovenia and as a government agency is subordinated directly to Prime Minister of Slovenia. Zoran Janković (politician) Slovenian businessman and politician

Zoran Janković is a Slovene businessman and politician. He came to prominence in 1997 as the president of the Slovenian retail company Mercator. From October 2006 to December 2011, he was mayor of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. In October 2011, he established the Positive Slovenia party, which won the plurality of votes at the early Slovenian 2011 parliamentary election. His function as a mayor ceased on 21 December 2011, when he became a deputy in the National Assembly. After he failed to be elected as the prime minister in the National Assembly, he was re-elected as the mayor of Ljubljana and retook the position on 11 April 2012. He is the first mayor of Ljubljana to have served two terms since the end of World War II.

Punk rock in Yugoslavia is the punk subculture of the former Yugoslav republics.The most developed punk scenes across the federation existed in Serbia, Slovenia, Niš, Vojvodina, Kosovo, Kragujevac, and Belgrade. The Province of Ljubljana was the central-southern area of Slovenia. In 1941, it was annexed by Fascist Italy, and after 1943 occupied by Nazi Germany.
