Morgan is an unincorporated community in northwestern Winneshiek County, Iowa, United States. [1]
A post office was established in February 1857, and remained in operation until being discontinued in December 1866. [2] [3]
Pine Creek is a 21.0-mile-long (33.8 km) tributary to the Upper Iowa River in northeastern Iowa; see Pine Creek for the smaller nearby stream of the same name. It rises in southern Fillmore County, Minnesota, between Harmony and Canton, crossing into Winneshiek County, Iowa, in Burr Oak Township in a southwest to southeast direction. It joins the Upper Iowa near Bluffton in Bluffton Township. Its course is essentially rural, with some cleared farmland, but also forested.

It lies along local roads just off Iowa Highway 76, north of the city of Waukon, the county seat of Allamakee County. Its elevation is 738 feet (225 m). The town was originally settled by Harvey Bell and Edmund Bell, and was named after Dorchester, England. Although Dorchester is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 52140, which opened on 21 May 1857. Dorchester is located in the Waterloo Township. Dorchester was platted in 1873.
