Morning in America is a vinyl and download only EP by American rock band Mudhoney, released on September 20, 2019, by Sub Pop. It contains tracks recorded during the sessions for 2018's Digital Garbage , but not included on that album, plus a couple completed at a later time. [4]
Although guitarist Steve Turner has described Morning in America as an "EP of leftovers" from the Digital Garbage sessions, singer Mark Arm don't feel the tracks are lesser songs necessarily; "they're just songs that for whatever reason didn't make the record," he said in 2023. "There are some that could have been swapped out for songs based on feel." [5]
The album title alludes to a television commercial, known for its opening line, "It's morning again in America." The ad was part of the Ronald Reagan 1984 presidential campaign. [6]
"Vortex of Lies" and "Ensam I Natt" were previously released in 2018 on a limited edition European tour single. [4] "Ensam I Natt", which translates to "Lonely Tonight", is a cover of Swedish rock band the Leather Nun with lyrics translated in English. [7] "One Bad Actor" was previously released as a 2018 limited edition split single with fellow Sub Pop label mates Hot Snakes. "Creeps Are Everywhere", "Morning in America" and "Snake Oil Charmer" are previously unreleased, while "Let's Kill Yourself Live Again" is an alternate version of the Digital Garbage track "Kill Yourself Live," and was previously released as the bonus track for the Japanese CD edition of that album. In his updated edition of the book Mudhoney: The Sound and the Fury from Seattle, Keith Cameron writes that together with Digital Garbage, the EP "offered a scathing eco-political health check while retaining all the elements one could want from Mudhoney: rowdy riffs, heroic yowl, frequent outbreaks of bad taste." [9] [10] Brad Cohan, writing for Bandcamp Daily , felt that the vibe on Morning in America, specifically on tracks such as "Vortex of Lies," "Morning in America" and "One Bad Actor," "lurches and grinds with stoner rock mettle, a Stooges-like wah-wah slow burn that's been creeping into the Mudhoney sound since 2002's Since We've Become Translucent ." [5]
The Arts Desk's Guy Oddy called the music "magnificent throughout," writing that "the genesis of Morning in America may have emerged from the leftovers of Mudhoney's previous album but it is a record with plenty of the zest and boisterousness, saturated in black humour, that we've come to expect from Mark Arm's crew." [7] Mark Deming of AllMusic wrote, "this music sounds as fierce and committed as anything Mudhoney ever committed to plastic," [8] while ClashMusic's Will Fitzpatrick described it as "wilder, punkier and even funnier" than Digital Garbage. [3]

Mudhoney is an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, on January 1, 1988, following the demise of Green River. Its members are singer and rhythm guitarist Mark Arm, lead guitarist Steve Turner, bassist Guy Maddison and drummer Dan Peters. Original bassist Matt Lukin left the band in 1999, but rejoined the band in December 2000 for a tour that lasted through January 2001.
Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge is the second studio album by American rock band Mudhoney. It was recorded at a time when the band was thinking of signing to a major record label, but decided to release the album on Sub Pop in 1991. The album shipped 50,000 copies on its original release. It was credited with helping to keep Sub Pop in business.
Sap is the second studio EP by the American rock band Alice in Chains, released on February 4, 1992, through Columbia Records. Sap is mostly acoustic and marks the first time that guitarist Jerry Cantrell sings lead vocals in an Alice in Chains release, with the song "Brother". The EP was produced by Alice in Chains and Rick Parashar and features guest vocals by Ann Wilson of the band Heart, Chris Cornell of Soundgarden and Mark Arm of Mudhoney. The track "Got Me Wrong" became a hit two years later after being featured on the soundtrack to the 1994 film Clerks. Under a Billion Suns is the seventh studio album by American rock band Mudhoney, released in the United States in March 7th, 2006. The album further departed from grunge and a continued a more commercial direction that began with their previous album Since We've Become Translucent. Of note is the unusual amount of saxophones and trumpets featured on the album. A few of the songs also feature female backing vocals. It was recorded with three producers: Phil Ek, Johnny Sangster and Tucker Martine.
Guy Bernard Maddison is an Australian punk and grunge musician. From 1986 to 1989 he worked as a member of noise rock group Lubricated Goat and appeared on their album Paddock of Love. He was a member of Bloodloss (1993–97), a blues-punk band, alongside Mark Arm on vocals. From 2001 Maddison is the bass guitarist of the United States-based grunge band, Mudhoney, and has worked on their studio albums, Since We've Become Translucent (2002), Under a Billion Suns (2006), The Lucky Ones (2008), Vanishing Point (2013), Digital Garbage (2018) and Plastic Eternity (2023).
Not Your Kind of People is the fifth studio album by American rock band Garbage. It was released on May 11, 2012, through the band's own record label, Stunvolume. The album marks the return of the band after a seven-year hiatus that started with previous album Bleed Like Me. Guitarist Duke Erikson said at the launch of the record that "working with Garbage again was very instinctual. Like getting on a bicycle...with three other people." The band emphasized that they did not want to reinvent themselves, but embrace their sonic identity, reflecting their classic sound whilst updating it for 2012. Although Shirley Manson's morose dispositions have a presence on the record, many of the songs share a more optimistic outlook on life, influenced by some of Manson's personal experiences during their hiatus.

Golden is the fourteenth studio album by Australian singer Kylie Minogue. On 6 April 2018, BMG Rights Management and Minogue's company Darenote made it available in a variety of formats.
