Mumbai Indians (MI) are a franchise cricket team based in Mumbai, India, which plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL). They were one of the ten teams that took part in the 2011 Indian Premier League. They were captained by Sachin Tendulkar for the fourth season in succession. [1]
Mumbai Indians reached the Qualifier of playoff stage in the 2011 IPL where they were defeated by the Royal Challengers Bangalore. They qualified for the 2011 Champions League Twenty20, where they emerged as champions. [2] [3]

Separamadu Lasith Malinga is a Sri Lankan former cricketer who is widely regarded as one of the greatest limited overs bowlers of all time. Playing as a right-arm fast bowler, Malinga was commonly used as a specialist death bowler, and captained the Sri Lanka national cricket team to the 2014 T20 World Cup title. He was nicknamed "Slinga Malinga" due to his distinctive round-arm action, sometimes referred to as a sling action. Malinga announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on 14 September 2021 and migrated to Melbourne.
Ashish Nehra is an Indian cricket coach and former cricketer who played in all formats of the game. Nehra announced his retirement from all forms of cricket in late 2017, with the Twenty20 International match against New Zealand on 1 November 2017 at Feroz Shah Kotla Ground his last appearance. With India, Nehra was a member of the Indian team that was one of the joint-winners of the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy, which the title was also shared with Sri Lanka, and was a member of the team that won the 2011 Cricket World Cup although he didn't play in the final.
Suresh Raina is an Indian former international cricketer. He occasionally served as stand-in captain for Indian men's national cricket team as well as in IPL for Chennai Super Kings during the absence of the main captain, MS Dhoni. He played for Uttar Pradesh (UP) in domestic cricket circuit. He is an aggressive left-handed middle-order batsman and an occasional off-spin bowler. He is the second-youngest player ever to captain India. He was the captain of Gujarat Lions in the Indian Premier League (IPL), and he also served as vice-captain of the Chennai Super Kings. He is the first Indian batsman to hit a century in all three formats of international cricket. During his time with India, he won the 2011 Cricket World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. Raina made history being the first Indian to score a century in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, which he did with his 101 runs against South Africa at the 2010 Tournament.
Lendl Mark Platter Simmons is a Trinidadian cricketer who played internationally for the West Indies. He is a right-handed batsman, an occasional right-arm medium pace bowler, and a part-time wicket-keeper. His uncle is former West Indian Test cricketer Phil Simmons. In July 2022, Simmons announced his retirement from international cricket. Simmons was a member of the West Indies team that won both the 2012 T20 World Cup and the 2016 T20 World Cup.

Kieron Adrian Pollard is a former Trinidadian cricketer, who captained the West Indies cricket team in limited overs cricket. He currently plays in various T20 leagues around the globe as an all-rounder. He also captains MI Emirates and MI New York in the ILT20 and MLC respectively. He was part of the 2012 ICC World T20 winning team for West Indies.

At most featuring in limited-overs internationals, he's the third batsman, after Brendon McCullum and Chris Gayle, to score two Twenty20 International centuries. Lewis also holds the records of the highest retired hurt score, of 176 not out, in international cricket along with the highest score, of 125 not out, by a West Indian in T20 internationals. Lewis was a member of the West Indies team that won the 2016 T20 World Cup.
