Terrence LeVarr Thornton, better known by his stage name Pusha T, is an American rapper, songwriter, and record executive. He rose to prominence as one-half of the Virginia-based hip hop duo Clipse, which was mainly active from 1994 to 2010, alongside his older brother No Malice. As Clipse, the two released three studio albums upon signing to Pharrell's Star Trak Entertainment; the albums spawned hit singles including "Grindin'" and "When the Last Time".
Ahmad Balshe, known professionally as Belly, is a Palestinian-Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Born in Jenin, Balshe was raised in Ottawa. At 21 years old, he moved on to his main love hip-hop with the release of his debut mixtape, Death Before Dishonor: Vol. 1. He then released eight additional projects in a span of six years, including his debut studio album The Revolution (2007), as well as two collaborative mixtapes, The Lost Tapes and The Greatest Dream I Never Had, with Kurupt and DJ Drama, respectively.

Lorenzo Lee-Jae Wright, better known by his stage name Big Lean, is a Canadian rapper from Toronto, Ontario. Lean began making music in 2008, two years after his friend and rapper Blits was shot dead as he felt that he should carry on his friends legacy. He gained attention in 2011 being featured on the single "Reality" by DJ Charlie Brown released alongside other Toronto artists P. Reign, Belly and Jahvon. He is independently signed to the label Da Degrees.

Mumble Rap 2 is the twelfth mixtape by Palestinian-Canadian rapper Belly. It was released on 19 May 2023 through XO and Roc Nation. The mixtape features guest appearances from the late Gil Scott-Heron, Nav, Gucci Mane, and Rick Ross. It was primarily produced by Hit-Boy, alongside the ANMLS, Prince85, Corbett, DannyBoyStyles, Nick Lamb, and Rogét Chahayed. It also serves as a sequel to Belly's previous mixtape, Mumble Rap (2017), which was primarily produced by Boi-1da. The mixtape was supported by three singles, "American Nightmare", "Ambiance", and the Rick Ross-assisted "Cocaine Spoon". It is the first of Belly's final three albums before retiring. Belly and Hit-Boy revealed the tracklist on 28 April 2023. On 21 April 2023, the same day that Belly announced the mixtape, he spoke about it in a press release: "With the first Mumble Rap I had already had a hit record and I wanted to remind people not to forget, where I actually come from & that I really do this".
