On July 1, 2003, the Munday Independent School District consolidated with the Goree Independent School District and adopted its current name. [2]
Munday Consolidated Independent School District (MCISD) is a public school district based in Munday, Texas (USA). In addition to Munday, the district also serves the city of Goree. Located primarily in southeastern Knox County, small portions of the district extend into northeastern Haskell and northwestern Throckmorton counties.
In 2010, the school district was rated "Recognized" by the Texas Education Agency. [1]

Knox County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 3,353. Its county seat is Benjamin. The county was created in 1858 and later organized in 1886. It is named for Henry Knox, an American Revolutionary War general.
Haskell County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 5,416. The county seat is Haskell. The county was created in 1858 and later organized in 1885. It is named for Charles Ready Haskell, who was killed in the Goliad massacre.
Goree is a city in Knox County, Texas. The population was 203 at the 2010 census, down from 321 at the 2000 census. A July 1, 2013 U.S. Census Bureau estimate placed the population at 207.

Munday High School is a public high school located in Munday, Texas (USA) and classified as a 2A school by the UIL. It is part of the Munday Consolidated Independent School District located in southeastern Knox County. In 2003, neighboring Goree High School in Goree, Texas was consolidated with Munday and all high school grades began attending Munday. Munday High School became known "officially" as Munday Secondary School not long after the merger with Goree. The Goree school became a junior high school for the district until 2009 when the school closed and those students were transferred to Munday. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.
