Murbad (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is one of the 288 Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) constituencies of Maharashtra state, western India. This constituency is located in Thane district. [1]
The constituency comprises Murbad taluka, parts of Kalyan taluka viz. revenue circles of Titwala, Nadgaon, parts of Ambernath taluka viz. revenue circles Badlapur , Goregaon, Kulgaon-Badlapur Municipal Council, parts of Ambernath revenue circle viz. Manjarli and Kharwai Saja. [1]

Thane district is a most populous district in the Indian state of Maharashtra in Konkan Division. At the 2011 Census it was the most populated district in the nation, with 11,060,148 inhabitants; however, in August 2014 the district was split into two with the creation of a new Palghar district, leaving the reduced Thane district with a 2011 Census population of 8,070,032. The headquarters of the district is the city of Thane. Other major cities in the district are Navi Mumbai, Kalyan-Dombivli, Mira-Bhayander, Bhiwandi, Ulhasnagar, Ambarnath, Badlapur, Murbad and Shahapur.
