Billboard reviewed the album in its issue from 3 October 1964, writing: "A blockbuster! Cast is excellent. Performance is outstanding. Sound is great. This movie soundtrack album of the Warner Bros. picture "My Fair Lady," with Rex Harrison and Audrey Hepburn, with music supervised and conducted by Andre Previn, will sell and sell. Makes the ideal gift for Christmas or anytime. De luxe packaging with four-color photos on two pages in the center of the album. Columbia has the original Broadway show album and now the motion picture album. A pair of aces!" [1]

The album reached the top ten of the Billboard Top LPs chart. [6]

My Fair Lady is a 1964 American musical comedy drama film adapted from the 1956 Lerner and Loewe stage musical based on George Bernard Shaw's 1913 stage play Pygmalion. With a screenplay by Alan Jay Lerner and directed by George Cukor, the film depicts a poor Cockney flower-seller named Eliza Doolittle who overhears a phonetics professor, Henry Higgins, as he casually wagers that he could teach her to speak English so well she could pass for a duchess in Edwardian London or better yet, from Eliza's viewpoint, secure employment in a flower shop.

The King's Jesters began as a comic vocal trio that also played instruments along with an accompanist. It comprised John Ravencroft - sax and clarinet, Francis "Fritz" Bastow - banjo and guitar, George Howard - drums and vibraphone, along with Ray McDermott - piano, accordion, and arranger. They were hired by Paul Whiteman to replace The Rhythm Boys and sang with him from 1930 to 1931. When they left Whiteman, they added vocalist Marjorie Whitney. These five were the core of the King's Jesters. The group most often appeared on Billboard's Music Popularity Charts in the '40s.

The original soundtrack to the film Easter Parade was released by MGM Records as a set of four 10-inch 78-rpm shellac records and as a 10-inch 33-rpm long-play. The soundrack featured songs performed by Judy Garland, Fred Astaire, Peter Lawford, Ann Miller and played by the Johnny Green Orchestra.
