The Mysore (Officially Mysuru) Urban Development Authority (MUDA) of Mysore, India, is a governmental organization that oversees planning and development of infrastructure, provision of development-related sites and services, and the housing needs of underprivileged citizens in Mysore. [1]
The Mysore Urban Development Authority was constituted on 16 May 1988 from the KUDA Act of 1987. [2] [3]
MUDA Covers the area of Mysuru Urban Agglomeration area covering Mysore, Hootagalli, Srirampura, Bhogadi, Kadakola, Rammanahalli and outgrowths which have a total combined population of 1,060,120 covering 286 km2. [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10]
The City Development Plan 2031 defines the metropolitan area of Mysore-Nanjangud covering 509sq.km.

Mysuru has grown beyond its corporation limits and has become an urban agglomeration. Until 2020, the parts of UA outside the corporation limits were handled by Gram panchayats and had a population of 9,90,990 according to 2011 census. [13] In November 2020, Many of there Gram Panchayats were converted into bigger municipalities including the City Municipal Council of Hootagalli, Town Panchayats of Bhogadi, Srirampura, Kadakola and Rammanahalli and this increased the population to 1,060,120. [4]
The metropolitan region of Mysuru contains the Urban Agglomeration of Mysuru, City of Nanjangud, Surrounding Villages in Mysuru and Nanjangud Taluks and Villages in Srirangapatna Taluk in Mandya district. As per City Development Plan 2031, this metropolitan area covers 509sq.km of area and has a population of 1,696,577. [14] [15]
The city development plan 2031 is a master plan made by MUDA to serve the needs of the city by planning the expansion of the city by the year 2031. The CDP 2031 plans residential layouts, commercial areas, industrial areas, airport, roads and other public infrastructure. CDP 2031 defines the boundaries of Mysuru Local Planning District [Metropolitan Region] consisting of various villages in Mysuru, Nanjangud Taluks of Mysuru District and Srirangapatna Taluk of Mandya District. CDP 2031 includes Thandavapura, Nanjangud Industrial Areas in Nanjangud Taluk as well as Hebbal, Belavadi, Hootgalli, Koorgalli, Belagola and Metagally Industrial Areas of Mysuru Taluk. As per 2031 CDP, the metropolitan area is divided into 45 planning districts. [14] [15]
CDP 2031 aims to preserve heritage sites in Mysuru, strengthen economy, balance land use, make city slum free, maintaining and widening of roads and street lighting, develop eco-planning districts with agricultural zones, providing a metro rail system and more. [16] Major proposals in CDP 2031 include decentralization of commercial district, satellite townshipat Jayapura and Yelawala and expansion of airport. [16] CDP 2031 also defines various regulations for different types of buildings and structures for residential, commercial, industrial and other uses. [17]

Nanjangud, officially known as Nanjanagudu, is a town in the Mysuru district of Indian state of Karnataka. Nanjangud lies on the banks of the river Kapila, 23 km from the city of Mysore. Nanjangud is famous for the Srikanteshwara Temple located here. Nanjangud is also called Dakshina Kashi. This town is also famous for a type of banana grown in the region called the Nanjanagoodu rasabale. Nanjangud's local administrative unit was designated as a Municipal Committee in 2015 by including Devirammanahalli and Kallahalli village.
Mysore division, officially Mysuru division, is an administrative division in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. It is one of four administrative divisions in Karnataka, the others being Bangalore division, Belagavi division, and Kalaburagi division. Mysore division comprises eight districts of Karnataka, namely, Chamarajanagar, Chikmagalur, Dakshina Kannada, Hassan, Kodagu, Mandya, Mysore and Udupi district. The city of Mysore is the administrative headquarters of the division. Mysore division covers parts of historical Old Mysore region and southern part of Coastal Karnataka.The total area of the division is 43,503 sq.km. Shivanasamudra Falls is a cluster of waterfalls on the borders of Malavalli, Mandya and Kollegala, Chamarajanagara, in Karnataka, India, situated along the river Kaveri. The falls form the contour between the districts of Chamarajanagara and Mandya. The Bharachukki Falls in Kollegala, with a height of 69 metres, and the Gaganachukki Falls in Malavalli, with a height of 90 metres, collectively form the Shivanasamudra Falls.

Valanchery is situated on National Highway 66. There is a huge demand to bifurcate the Tirur and Perinthalmanna taluks and form a new taluk, headquarters at Valanchery. It is under consideration by the state government.
Kadakola is a Town and a suburb of Mysuru metropolitan area in the southern state of Karnataka, India. It is located in the Mysore taluk of Mysore district. In November 2020, Kadakola was upgraded from a Gram Panchayat to a Town Panchayat and a gazetted notification was passed on November 26, 2020.2. The combined population of the newly formed town is 19,969.
Rammanahalli is a Town and a suburb of Mysore in the Mysuru metropolitan area of Karnataka, India. It is located in the Mysore taluk of Mysore district. In November 2020, Kadakola was upgraded from a Gram Panchayat to a Town Panchayat and a gazetted notification was passed on November 26th 2020. The notification combines Rammanahalli GP villages, Nadanahalli and Alanahalli of Alanahalli GP, Hanchya and Sathagalli villages of Hanchya GP, covering a total area of 22.81 sq. km. The combined population of the town according to 2011 census was 20,804.

Patna Regional Development Authority abbreviated as PRDA, is a body of the Government of Bihar that is responsible for the infrastructure development of the Patna Metropolitan Region (PMR). The main landmarks of this area are Brahmarahbha Choultrey, SBM park, Madhuvana Park. There are several schools in and around this area. North of Srirampura is Vivekananda Nagar and Kuvempunagar. West of Srirampura is Ramakrishnanagar, East of Srirampura is Asokapuram. South of Srirampura is the Mananthavady-Mysore Highway. In November 2020, a gazetted notification was passed upgrading the census town to a town panchayat. The notification combines towns and villages of Srirampura, Lingambudhipalya, Gurur, Koppalur and Kalalavadi villages coming under Srirampura GP, covering a total area of 17.99 km2. According to 2011 census, the town has a combined population of 18,511.

Hootagalli or Hutagalli is a city and a Suburb of Mysore, situated in Mysuru metropolitan area ಮೈಸೂರು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ of Karnataka, India. Hootagalli is located in the outskirts of the city of Mysuru and forms a continuous urban area. Hootagalli city municipal council consists of previous census towns of Hinkal, Hootagalli and Gram Panchyats of Koorgalli and Belavadi totally covering an area of 28.48 square km. In November 2020, the government of Karnataka approved the formation of Hootagalli City Municipal Council by merging four gram panchayats. The initial plan was to include it with MCC to form Greater Mysuru City Corporation (BMMP) however, due to MCC disputing the proposal, a separate body was created. According to 2011 census, the city municipal council has combined population of 56,876. On November 26, 2020, a gazetted notification was passed making the CMC official.
