Nahran (Persian : نهران‎, also Romanized as Nahrān; also known as Nahran-e Kharāb and Nahrān Kharāb)^[1] is a village in Hegmataneh Rural District, in the Central District of Hamadan County, Hamadan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 164, in 38 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is a pluricentric language primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Hegmataneh Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in the Central District of Hamadan County, Hamadan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 22,813, in 5,624 families. The rural district has 13 villages.

The District has three cities: Hamadan, Maryanaj, and Juraqan.
