Nai Chung is a countryside and a village in northeastern New Territories,Hong Kong. It is located at the east of Ma On Shan,partly lying within the Ma On Shan Country Park. Nai Chung lies in a larger area collectively known as Shap Sze Heung.
Despite its proximity to the neighbouring areas administered by Sha Tin and Sai Kung districts,Nai Chung is actually administered by Tai Po District. It is covered by the Sai Kung North constituency of the Tai Po District Council,which is currently represented by Ben Tam Yi-pui. It contains barbecue sites,which are popular destinations of school picnics,and some restaurants that serve Thai and Indian food.[ citation needed ]
Sai Kung District is one of the 18 districts of Hong Kong,a special administrative region of China. The district comprises the southern half of the Sai Kung Peninsula,the Clear Water Bay Peninsula in the New Territories and a strip of land to the east of Kowloon. Areas in the district include Sai Kung Town,Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark,Tseung Kwan O and over 70 islands of different sizes. The administrative centre had been located in Sai Kung Town until the Sai Kung District Office was relocated to Tseung Kwan O recently. The district's population is concentrated in Tseung Kwan O,as of 2011. In 2011,the district was the third youngest district,with a median age of 39.3. Known as the "back garden of Hong Kong",Sai Kung has been able to retain its natural scenery. Many traditional customs and cultures are still retained in the rural villages.
Kei Ling Ha is an area of Shap Sze Heung,on the Sai Kung Peninsula,in eastern New Territories of Hong Kong. Administratively,it is part of Tai Po District. It is a popular place for countryside visits,picnicking and bird watching.
Rural committee is a body representing the welfare of indigenous residents in the New Territories of Hong Kong. The chairman of each rural committee is the representative in the Heung Yee Kuk,and is ex officio member of a district council.
Shap Sze Heung,sometimes transliterated as Shap Sz Heung,is an area in Hong Kong located in the northern part of the Sai Kung Peninsula.
Shap Pat Heung is an area in the New Territories of Hong Kong. Located south of Yuen Long and northeast of Tai Tong,the area occupied the plain north of hills of Tai Lam. The Cantonese name Shap Pat Heung means eighteen villages at its beginning. It was later expanded to thirty villages. Administratively,it is part of the Yuen Long District.
Sai Sha Road is a main road connecting Sai Kung and Ma On Shan. It begins at the roundabout at Mak Pin,Sai Kung and passes through Three Fathoms Cove and Shap Sze Heung before traversing the new town of Ma On Shan and Wu Kai Sha and ending at Hang Tak Street in Tai Shui Hang.
Sai Kung North refers collectively to the areas on the southern side of Tolo Harbour and the northernmost part of the Sai Kung Peninsula. Part of this broad area is served by Sai Sha Road,a motorway between Sai Kung and Ma On Shan.
