Nakul Dubey is an Indian politician from the Indian National Congress and a former urban development minister in the Government of Uttar Pradesh when Mayawati was Chief Minister. [1]

Before joining politics in 2007, Dubey was an advocate by profession, practising in Lucknow High Court. He was also elected as a member of the Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh in 2006, securing the maximum votes in the state.[ citation needed ]

Dubey quit his career as a lawyer in 2007 and contested the Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha elections in the Mahona constituency as a BSP candidate. He was Minister of Urban Development, Environment and Prohibition during 2007–12.[ citation needed ]

In 2012, Dubey contested the Legislative Assembly elections in Bakshi Kaa Talab constituency, Lucknow district. He lost by a margin of few hundred votes.[ citation needed ]

Subsequently, in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Dubey stood as a candidate in Lucknow. Again, he did not win.[ citation needed ]

Dubey was given the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission Award for the best work in Kanpur.

In the year 2019, he contested Lok Sabha elections from Sitapur on BSP seat but lost to Rajesh Verma of BJP.

In May 2022 he joined the Indian National Congress.

The most sensational murder was that of BSP MLA Raju Pal, who had defeated Atique's brother Ashraf in the 2004 Uttar Pradesh state legislature elections.

The incumbent chief minister Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party, which previously won an absolute majority of seats, was defeated by Mulayam Singh Yadav's Samajwadi Party, which gained an absolute majority in the election. Dara Singh Chauhan is an Indian politician who represented Madhuban in Uttar Pradesh as a member of Samajwadi party. . He was former Cabinet Minister in Yogi Adityanath ministry. He also represented Ghosi in the 15th Lok Sabha, where he was leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party. In 16th Lok Sabha, he was defeated by Harinarayan Rajbhar who represented Bharatiya Janata Party by more than 140,000 votes.

He represents the Kaptanganj constituency of Uttar Pradesh and is a member of the Samajwadi Party. He earlier also served as Minister of State in Mayawati cabinet (1997), Minister of Textile and silk industry in Kalyan Singh government (1997) and Minister of Food and Civil Supplies in Mayawati cabinet (2007–2012).
