The National Party (Danish : Nationalpartiet) is a center-left political party in Denmark. It was formed in 2014 by three Danish-Pakistani brothers in opposition to the right wing parties in Denmark. [1] [2]
The party was founded in 2014 by Kashif Ahmad, Aamer Ahmad, and Asif Ahmad. Kashif Ahmad was a member of the municipal council in Hvidovre Municipality when the party was founded, thus giving the party a seat. [3]
It did not manage to run for the 2015 election, but several of the individual members ran as independents, including Yahya Hassan.
In April 2016, the party claimed to have gathered enough signatures to run for the next general election. However, a new digital system of gathering signatures had been implemented by the Ministry of the Interior and of Social Affairs, and problems with this system made many of the National Party's signatures ineligible. In January 2019, party leader Kashif Ahmad left the party in favour of Alternativet. He was succeeded as party leader by his brother Asif. [6]
The Danish People's Party is a nationalist and right-wing populist political party in Denmark. It was formed in 1995 by former members of the Progress Party (FrP).
The Danish Social Liberal Party is a social-liberal political party in Denmark. The party was founded as a split from the Venstre Reform Party in 1905.
Martin Raahauge Borreskov Geertsen is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Venstre political party. He entered parliament in 2018 after Søren Pind resigned his seat. He was previously a member of parliament between 2011 and 2015. He is a former mayor of the Culture Committee in Copenhagen and former political leader of the Venstre party in Copenhagen.

Mette Frederiksen is a Danish politician who has been Prime Minister of Denmark since June 2019, and Leader of the Social Democrats since June 2015. The second woman to hold either office, she is also the youngest prime minister in Danish history. Following the election on 1 November 2022, Frederiksen has been serving as acting Prime Minister, as negotiations are currently being held between the parties to form a new government.
Uffe Elbæk is a Danish politician, social worker, author, journalist, entrepreneur. In 2013 he founded the green political party The Alternative, which he led until February 2020. He is an independent member of the Folketing.
General elections were held in the Kingdom of Denmark on 5 June 2019 to elect all 179 members of the Folketing; 175 in Denmark proper, two in the Faroe Islands and two in Greenland. The elections took place ten days after the European Parliament elections.
The Alternative is a green political party in Denmark. The party was publicly launched on 27 November 2013 by former Minister of Culture Uffe Elbæk and Josephine Fock; Elbæk had been a parliamentarian for the Social Liberal Party. Elbæk was the leader of the party until February 2020, where he stepped down and was succeeded by Fock. Currently the party is led by Franciska Rosenkilde. It collaborates with DiEM25 at the European level.
Kashif Ahmad is a Pakistani-Danish politician and former member of the municipal council in Hvidovre Municipality. He founded the National Party with his brothers Aamer and Asif Ahmad.
New Right is a national-conservative and economic liberal Danish political party. The party was founded in the autumn 2015 by Pernille Vermund and Peter Seier Christensen. In the 2019 general election New Right won four seats.
General elections were held in Denmark on 1 November 2022 following the announcement by incumbent Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on 5 October, in response to an ultimatum made by the Danish Social Liberal Party. All 179 members of the Folketing are elected; 175 members in Denmark proper, two in the Faroe Islands and two in Greenland. Due to 1 November being a national day of mourning for victims at sea on the Faroe Islands, the election was held on 31 October in that constituency. The next election is scheduled to take place on or before 31 October 2026, according to the Danish Constitution.
The Citizen List is a centre-right political party in Denmark. Under the name Klaus Riskær Pedersen Party, after its founder Klaus Riskær Pedersen, it entered the 2019 general election, failing to win any seats. Following the defeat, Riskær announced that the party would not again stand in an election, but later reversed that decision. In December 2019 he changed the party's name to its current name.
Theresa Birgitta Brønnum Scavenius is Danish politician. She is an associate professor at Aalborg University Copenhagen with climate politics as her research area. She is a member of the green political party The Alternative, and was a candidate at the 2019 Danish general election, but did not get elected. She was a candidate to succeed Uffe Elbæk as political leader of the party, when he resigned in February 2020, but lost to Josephine Fock.

The Independent Greens – Denmark's New Left-Wing Party, or simply the Independent Greens (Q), is a left-wing political party in Denmark. It was founded 7 September 2020 by four former members of The Alternative: Sikandar Siddique, Uffe Elbæk, and Susanne Zimmer, who are members of the Danish parliament, and Niko Grünfeld, member of Copenhagen City Council. The party leader is Sikandar Siddique. Elbæk was founder and leader of The Alternative from 2013 to 2020.
Torsten Gejl is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for The Alternative political party. He was elected into parliament at the 2015 Danish general election. He is currently the group leader of The Alternative in the Folketing.
Britt Bager is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Conservative People's Party political party. She was elected into the Folketing in the 2015 Danish general election for the Venstre political party, but switched to the Conservative People's Party in 2021.
Jens Henrik Winther Thulesen Dahl is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Denmark Democrats, and former member of the Danish People's Party. He was elected into parliament at the 2011 Danish general election.

The Denmark Democrats, officially Danmarksdemokraterne – Inger Støjberg, is a Danish political party founded in June 2022 by Inger Støjberg. In the 2022 election, the Denmark Democrats won 14 seats, thereby making them the 5th largest party alongside Liberal Alliance in the Folketing.
