Neill Gorton (born 6 September 1969) is an English special effects artist, visual effects specialist and make-up artist specialised in animatronics and prosthetics. [1] He is known for his work on films like Saving Private Ryan (1998) and Children of Men (2006) and the series Doctor Who (2005).

Gorton entered the film industry already at the age of 17. [1] Early on, he started to work for Hollywood film productions in co-operation with directors like Steven Spielberg and Alfonso Cuarón and actors such as Johnny Depp, Michael Caine and Christopher Lee. He is responsible the design of most Doctor Who villains and monsters, including the modern update of Davros. [2] He won the BAFTA Awards four times with six nominations and won the RTS Awards two times with five nominations. He was nominated one time for the OFTA awards. Gorton and Rob Mayor are the directors of the company Millennium FX, which is focused on cutting edge prosthetics, animatronics, and special make-up FX. [3] He is also the director of Gorton Studio, which offers courses for trainees up to professionals in screen prosthetics. [4] He is also a visiting professor at the University of Bolton. [5]

KNB EFX Group is an American special effects company that specializes in prosthetic makeup, animatronics, and other practical effects. It was founded in 1988 by Robert Kurtzman, Greg Nicotero, and Howard Berger, though Kurtzman left in 2003. After establishing a reputation for gory effects in horror films throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, they broadened to performing animatronics and makeup effects for mainstream comedy and drama films. <i>Almas Not Normal</i> Television series

Alma's Not Normal is a British sitcom first broadcast as a pilot episode on BBC Two in April 2020. The series follows the eponymous Alma, from Bolton, as she tries to give her life meaning and the "fabulous" outcome she has always dreamed of, while coping with the strained relationships of her family that saw her spend time in care, something else which she is trying to reconcile. The series is written by and stars Sophie Willan and is inspired by her own experiences of the care system.
