The New England Nightmare was a women's tackle football team. They began play in 2010, as a member of the Women's Football Alliance. Based in Windsor, Connecticut, the Nightmare played their home games at Dillon Stadium in Hartford Connecticut and Falcon Field in nearby Meriden.

Trinity Health Stadium is a multipurpose facility in Hartford, Connecticut. It has been host to concerts and sporting events. It was formerly the home of the New England Nightmare of the Women's Football Alliance (WFA). It is now the home of USL Championship club Hartford Athletic. The UConn Huskies men's and women's soccer teams played a majority of their 2019 matches at Dillon Stadium after starting their seasons at Al-Marzook Field in West Hartford, Connecticut.

The 1978 Baltimore Colts season was the 26th season for the team in the National Football League (NFL). Under fourth-year head coach Ted Marchibroda, the Colts finished with 5 wins and 11 losses, tied for fourth in the AFC East division with the Buffalo Bills. Steve Sherman is the current owner of the Cincinnati Sizzle, as of the 2018 season, with Michelle Terrell continues in her 15th year as general manager. The regular season spans from April to July. Currently the home games are played at Walnut Hills High School (Cincinnati).

The Northeastern Nitro is a team that competes in the Women's Spring Football League that began play in the 2011 season. They have recently relocated to CT. Formerly based in Danbury, Connecticut, the Nitro played its home games on the campus of Immaculate High School.

The 1897 Storrs Aggies football team represented Storrs Agricultural College, now the University of Connecticut, in the 1897 college football season. This was the second year that the school fielded a football team. The Aggies completed the season with a record of 5–2, playing for the first time as a member of the Athletic League of New England State Colleges, which served to facilitate scheduling between Connecticut, the University of Massachusetts Amherst and the University of Rhode Island. The 1897 season marked the first contests against these two rivals.

Kelly Clinch is an Australian rules footballer who played for the Fremantle Football Club in the AFL Women's competition. Clinch was drafted by Fremantle with their 15th selection and 116th overall in the 2016 AFL Women's draft. She made her debut in the thirteen point loss to Brisbane at Fremantle Oval in round two of the 2017 season. After her debut match, she played every match for the year to finish with six matches.
