History

Guitarist Kat Dyson left after the Jam of the Year Tour and new backing vocalist Marva King was added to the band. In addition, Prince added "special guest" Larry Graham who played bass and provided vocals on many songs. Rapper Doug E. Fresh often guested as well. The tour was split into two legs: one American and one European. Later in the year, the tour morphed into the "New Power Soul Festival Tour", with opening acts Larry Graham and Chaka Khan. Once again there was a US and European leg. Willie Donwell organized the US and some European dates.

Prince Rogers Nelson, better known as Prince, was an American singer-songwriter, musician, record producer, dancer, and actor. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest musicians of his generation. The Time (band) American funk and dance-pop ensemble

The Time, also known as Morris Day and the Time and The Original 7ven, is an American musical group that was created in Minneapolis in 1981 by Prince. Their work has been a part of the formation of the Minneapolis sound, featuring a mix of soul music and dance music with funk, rock n roll, and more. Led by singer-songwriter Morris Day, the band members are known for having been close Prince associates, and are arguably the most successful artists who have worked with him, achieving particular popularity with R&B fans with tracks such as "Jerk Out" and "Jungle Love". Former members Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis went on to a prominent production career after they left the band in 1983, while Day and guitarist Jesse Johnson recorded solo material in addition to their work with the Time.

The Family was a band formed by Prince, and one of the first signed to Prince's record label, Paisley Park Records. The band reformed as fDeluxe in 2011.

The Revolution (band) American band

The Revolution is an American rock band formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota and assembled in 1979 by Prince. Although widely associated with rock music, the band's sound incorporated rhythm and blues, pop, funk, and psychedelia elements. Before their official break-up, the Revolution had released two studio albums, two soundtracks, and two videos. The band is known for its many members, varied in race and gender.

"Talkin' Loud and Sayin' Nothing" is a funk song written by James Brown and Bobby Byrd. Recorded in 1970 by Brown and the original J.B.'s with Byrd on backing vocals and updated with a new melody, it was twice released as a two-part single in 1972. It reached number one on the U.S. Hot Soul Singles chart and number twenty-seven on the Billboard Hot 100 during the spring of that year. It also appeared on the album There It Is. Critic Robert Christgau called it "the loosest and most infectious of Brown's many socially conscious jams."It is in this song we learn that Brown originally envisioned rapping as call and response .The original version was more rock-oriented and featured on The Singles Vol Six.1969-1970.

Welcome 2 was a concert tour by American recording artist Prince. Playing over 80 shows, the tour reached North America, Europe and Australia. Each leg of the tour is branded by the "Welcome 2" title followed by the continent the leg is located in. The tour marks the singer's first performances in North America in over six years. The show is composed of the singer performing his hits with his band The New Power Generation. Alongside Prince, various musicians performed including Janelle Monáe, Esperanza Spalding and Cassandra Wilson. The title of the tour varied depending on the territory where it was performing. The tour placed 39th on Pollstar's "Top 50 Worldwide Tour", earning nearly $20 million.

Announced in January, the concerts were so highly anticipated. For some shows, The New Power Generation would also join them on stage. The name of the tour comes from the song "Live Out Loud" by Prince and 3rdeyegirl.

The Louder Than Concorde Tour was a concert tour by English musician and composer Elton John, in support of his 10th studio album Rock of the Westies. the tour included two legs and a total of 62 shows.
