New York's 143rd State Assembly district is one of the 150 districts in the New York State Assembly. It has been represented by Republican Patrick Chludzinski since 2025. It was previously represented by Democrat Monica Wallace since 2017.

Geography

District 143 is located entirely within Erie County. It contains towns east of Buffalo, such as Cheektowaga, Lancaster, Depew and Sloan. Buffalo Niagara International Airport is located in this district. [1]

Dennis T. Gorski was an American politician in New York and a Marine. A resident of Cheektowaga, New York, Gorski served as County Executive of Erie County, New York, which includes Buffalo and many of its suburbs. He was the first Democrat-elected Erie County Executive and the first Erie County Executive elected to three four-year terms. Gorski was an Erie County Legislator and a member of the New York State Assembly prior to three-term service as county executive. During his second term as County Executive, he ran for Congress to succeed Democrat Henry Nowak, but he was defeated in the general election by Republican Jack Quinn.

New York State Route 952Q (NY 952Q) is an unsigned reference route designation for the portion of Walden Avenue outside of the Buffalo city limits in Erie County, New York, in the United States. The western terminus of the 14-mile (23 km) route is at the Buffalo city line in Cheektowaga, where Walden Avenue continues west toward downtown Buffalo. Its eastern terminus is at Genesee Street in Alden, where NY 33 and Genesee Street continue on the linear northeasterly path followed by Walden Avenue for most of its routing.

Prior to his congressional tenure, Kennedy served in the New York State Senate from 2011 to 2024.
