Nigaar Khan (born 2 May 1979) [1] is an Indian television actress mainly known for her portrayal of negative characters. [2] [3]

Early life

Khan was born and brought up in Pune, Maharashtra. She is the elder sister of model-actress Gauahar Khan. [4] [5] [6]

Career

In 2008, Khan participated in the dancing competition show Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena along with Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik. [7] Their dance in one of the episodes on the song "Woh Ladki Hai Kaha" ( Dil Chahta Hai ) was well appreciated by the judges, Sushmita Sen and Wasim Akram, and the audience. [8]

In 2011, the reality TV show The Khan Sisters focused on the lives of Khan and her sister Gauahar. The following year Khan appeared in the show Sacch Ka Saamna. She also hosted the show Love Story, [9] showcased some love stories of Bollywood. Khan presented the stories and interviewed various celebrities. [10]

In 2013, Khan appeared on the reality show Welcome – Baazi Mehmaan-Nawaazi Ki along with VJ Andy, Ragini Khanna and Sanaya Irani. [11] [12] Since September 2013, Khan has appeared in the mythological show Buddha based on life of Gautama Buddha. She plays the role of Buddha's aunt and Devadatta's mother. [13]

In November 2014, Nigaar participated in Bigg Boss 8 as wild card entrant. She survived for 2 weeks.

In June 2016, she made a comeback on television in the children's show Baal Veer on SAB TV as an evil fairy called Prachandika to create hurdles in the life of Baal Veer.

Personal life

Nigaar Khan married her long-time boyfriend and Pakistani business man Khayyam Sheikh in Dubai on 23 July 2015. [14] [15] Nigaar has moved to Dubai post her marriage. [16] [17]

Comedy Nights With Kapil is an Indian Hindi-language sketch comedy and celebrity talk show hosted and produced by comedian Kapil Sharma. It was on-air on Colors TV amid 22 June 2013 to 24 January 2016. Many of the episodes feature celebrity guests who usually appear to promote their latest films in a comedy-focused talk show format. On 25 September 2013, a fire broke out on the sets of the show at Film City in Goregaon causing the entire set to collapse and an estimated loss of 20 Crores. Following the fire, two episodes were shot on sets of Bigg Boss in Lonavla. In September 2013, the show became India's highest rated scripted TV show. At the CNN-IBN Indian of the Year awards, Sharma was awarded the Entertainer of the Year award for 2013.

Bigg Boss 8, which merged into Bigg Boss Halla Bol!, was the eighth season of the Indian reality television series Bigg Boss, which premiered on TV channel Colors from 21 September 2014 and concluded on 3 January 2015 with five final contestants. Buddha — Rajaon Ka Raja is an Indian drama series which aired on Zee TV and DD National, produced by Bhupendra Kumar Modi, under the banner Spice Global. The programme stars Kabir Bedi in a cameo role as Asita Muni, the sage who announces the coming of Gautama Buddha. The story of the serial is based on the life of Gautama Buddha that shows how a prince, Siddhartha, became a Buddha. The role of Mayadevi – scheduled to be played by Sameksha Singh – was replaced with Deepika Upadhyay. Himanshu Soni played the lead role of Buddha, while Kajal Jain played Siddhartha Gautama's wife Yaśodharā.
