Nilesh Narayan Rane is an Indian Politician. He is from Maharashtra, a state in Western India. He is a son of Narayan Rane Ex Chief Minister of Maharashtra & Ex Cabinet Minister of Ministry of MSME.

Personal life

Nilesh is the son of union cabinet minister Narayan Rane. His brother, Nitesh Narayan Rane, represents Kankavli constituency in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

Political career

Nilesh Rane was elected to 15th Lok Sabha of India from Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg constituency of Maharashtra as a member of Indian National Congress (INC).

As part of the 15th Lok Sabha, Rane served on the Committee on Home Affairs and the Rules Committee.

Rane contested from same constituency for a seat in 16th Lok Sabha, but lost to Sena's candidate Vinayak Raut.

As of 2019 he is a member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). [1]

In 2024 he switched over to Shiv Sena [2] [3] from BJP to contest as Maha Yuti candidate in 2024 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election from Kudal Assembly constituency which he won that seat by a margin of 8,176 votes.

Chandrakant Khaire is an Indian politician. He is a member of the Shiv Sena political party from Aurangabad. He was elected consecutively for 4 terms in Lok Sabha representing Auragabad for 1999, 2004, 2009 and 2014. He was two time MLA from Aurangabad West in 1990 and 1995. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party also features several senior leaders who are dynasts. In Maharashtra, the NCP has particularly high level of dynasticism.

Ravindra Vishwanath Gaikwad is an Indian politician associated with Shiv Sena, and was a member of the 16th Lok Sabha of India from 2014 to 2019 as a member of that party. He did not contest Lok Sabha elections in 2019. In 2014, he had contested from Osmanabad constituency of Maharashtra, and defeated sitting MP Padamsinha Bajirao Patil who contested from Nationalist Congress Party by 235,325 votes by obtaining 607,699 votes against 373,374. Before 2014, he was a two time MLA from omerga constituency. He has also been the Chairman of Killari Sugar Factory. He is a director on the agriculture board committee in the Central Government of India. His son Kiran Ravindra Gaikwad lost the Zilla parishad Osmanabad election from kunhali constituency. The loss to prakash Ashte was widely discussed in media.

Eknath Sambhaji Shinde is an Indian politician who is serving as the Caretaker Chief Minister of Maharashtra since 26 November 2024 until new Chief Minister is appointed. He is also Chairperson of Shiv Sena since February 2023 and the Leader of the House, Maharashtra Legislative Assembly since July 2022. He is also the Member of Legislative Assembly for the Kopri-Pachpakhadi constituency of Thane, Maharashtra, since 2009 and was formerly the MLA of Thane constituency from 2004 to 2009.

He had been elected to Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for three consecutive terms. For his first two terms, he was elected as a member of the Shivsena. For his third term, he was elected on the Indian National Congress ticket. In Nimhan was defeated in the 2014 assembly elections. He has since then returned to the Shivsena.

Abdul Sattar Abdul Nabi is an Indian politician from Maharashtra. He was briefly a minister in 2014 in the Congress government in Maharashtra. In 2019 he left Congress and joined Shiv Sena. He is a three term Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from the Sillod constituency. He served as the state's Cabinet Minister for Animal Husbandry.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2024 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election</span>

The 2024 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election was held on 20 November 2024 to elect all 288 members of the state's Legislative Assembly to elect 288 members of the 15th Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. The turnout for the election was 66.05%, the highest since 1995. The ruling Maha Yuti won a landslide victory winning 235 seats and none of the parties in the Maha Vikas Aghadi had sufficient seats to get the position of leader of opposition, the first time in six decades.
