Nocturnal is the fourth studio album and second international album by Malaysian singer-songwriter Yuna. It was released on 29 October 2013 by Verve Records. The album was preceded by the release of the lead single "Rescue",which was released on 27 August 2013. Nocturnal debuted and peaked at number 27 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart.
On 4 September 2013,Yuna released the cover artwork for Nocturnal,which depicts her in a floral foreground setting. [1] The official track listing for the album was confirmed by Artistdirect on 13 September. [2] On 25 October,the album was made available for streaming in full before it was released. [3]
"Rescue" was released as Nocturnal's lead single on 27 August 2013. [4] It garnered a positive review from MTV Hive,who described the song as a "kick-yourself-in-the-ass ray of sunshine". [5] On 24 September,an official lyric video for the single was released,in which fans were asked to submit Polaroid images with the song's lyrics written beneath them. [6]

Upon release,Nocturnal received rave reviews from contemporary music critics. Matt Collar of AllMusic rated the album four out of five stars,stating that it delivers a "delicate girl power vibe",while comparing Yuna's vocals to those of Sixpence None the Richer's Leigh Nash and English recording artist Ellie Goulding. [12] The Boston Globe 's Ken Capobianco gave the album a positive review,noting that it "fleshes out her [Yuna's] acoustic soul while moving toward dance territory". [13] MTV Iggy's Laura Studarus described the album as a guide towards a twinking blend of different genres. [14]

Smile Empty Soul is an American rock band, originally from Santa Clarita, California, United States. It was started in 1998 by Sean Danielsen, Ryan Martin (bass), and Derek Gledhill (drums). Following the departure of Gledhill and Martin from the band in 2005 and 2017, respectively, Danielsen remains the only founding member still active as well as the band's primary songwriter, frontman, and leader.

Her initial exposure came through the viral success of her music uploaded to Myspace, which received over one million plays. I Am Not a Human Being II is the tenth studio album by American rapper Lil Wayne. It was released on March 26, 2013, by Young Money Entertainment, Cash Money Records and Republic Records. Amethyst Amelia Kelly, known professionally as Iggy Azalea, is an Australian rapper, songwriter, and model. At the age of 16, she moved to the United States in order to pursue a career in music. Azalea earned public recognition after releasing the music videos for her songs "Pussy" and "Two Times" on YouTube. "The Don" is a song by American rapper Nas. Released as the second single from his tenth studio album, Life Is Good (2012), it is produced by record producers Da Internz, Heavy D and Salaam Remi, who all helped write the song along with Nas, although Heavy D died before the song could be finished. Built around a sample of "Dance in New York" by reggae singer Super Cat, a former collaborator of Nas, "The Don" is backed by a boom bap, reggae-tinged production with additional drum and piano sounds. Lyrically, Nas reaffirms his status as a "street poet", addressing the hardships of poverty within disadvantaged societies and the realities of weapon and drug problems.

"Problem" is an uptempo dance-pop and R&B with influences of funk music, which comprises a melody based on drums, saxophone loops, and trumpets. The chorus features uncredited background vocals from American hip-hop artist Big Sean. "Masterpiece" is song recorded by English singer Jessie J released as the third single from her third studio album, Sweet Talker (2014). The song was written and produced by Josh Alexander and was co-written by Britt Burton and Emily Warren, the latter of whom also co-wrote the album's opening track "Ain't Been Done". "Masterpiece" was released to iTunes on 7 October 2014, alongside "Ain't Been Done", as the second and third promotional singles off Sweet Talker, respectively. It was released to US radio January 13, 2015 as the third international single and fourth from the album overall, while its music video premiered December 10, 2014.
