Noor Azmi bin Ghazali (born 27 November 1960) [1] is a Malaysian politician and physician who served as Deputy Minister of Health I for the second term in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and former Minister Khairy Jamaluddin from August 2021 to the collapse of the BN administration in November 2022 and the first term in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and former Minister Adham Baba from March 2020 to the collapse of the BN administration in August 2021,Chairman of the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) from October 2016 to October 2018 as well as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bagan Serai from May 2018 to November 2022. He is a member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU),a component party of the PN coalition and was a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO),a component party of the BN coalition. After the defeat of BN to Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the 2018 general election,he resigned from UMNO in 2018 and joined BERSATU in 2019.
In May 2013,Azmi first contested to become an MP in the 13th Malaysian general election and subsequently won the Bagan Serai seat with a 1,140 majority. [2] He was successfully re-elected as MP for the same seat in the 14th Malaysian general election,albeit with a razor-thin majority.
Azmi served as the Chairman of the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) between October 2016 and October 2018,replacing Jasin MP Ahmad Hamzah. [3]
On 24 June 2018,following Barisan Nasional's spectacular fall from power in the aftermath of the 2018 Malaysian general election,Noor Azmi announced his resignation from United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) and became an independent. [4] Following months of speculation,it was announced on 28 November 2018 that he has joined PPBM,one of component parties of the ruling Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition together with four Senators. [1]
On 9 March 2020,he was appointed by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin to serve his cabinet as Deputy Minister of Health with Aaron Ago Dagang. He was involved in controversy event like violating MCO by having lunch together with around 30 people include Perak EXCO member Razman Zakaria,later both of them had apologized for their acts. [5]

The National Front,officially Barisan Nasional (BN),is a political coalition of Malaysia that was founded in 1974 as a coalition of centre-right and right-wing political parties to succeed the Alliance Party. It is the third largest political coalition with 30 seats in the Dewan Rakyat after Pakatan Harapan (PH) with 82 seats and Perikatan Nasional (PN) with 74 seats.
The United Sabah People's Party is a minority political party based in Sabah,Malaysia. Presently PBRS is being led by its President Arthur Joseph Kurup. The party was previously led by its founding and first president;Joseph Kurup from 1994 to 2023. Ronald Kiandee is a Malaysian politician. A member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU) and its Vice President since August 2020 and 2nd State Chairman of Sabah since December 2022,he has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Beluran since November 1999. He served as Minister of Agriculture and Food Industries in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin from March 2020 to the collapse of the PN administration in August 2021. He was reappointed to the same post for a second term in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob from August 2021 until the dissolution of the BN government in November 2022,when BN lost its reelection campaign in the 2022 general election. Prior to serving in the Cabinet,Kiandee was the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration from 2018 to 2019 and Deputy Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat I in the BN administration from 2008 to 2018. He is presently the sole MP of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party of Sabah and one of the only two Christian MPs of PN alongside Ali Biju.
General elections were held in Malaysia on Wednesday,9 May 2018. At stake were all 222 seats in the Dewan Rakyat,the lower house of parliament. The 13th Parliament was dissolved by Prime Minister Najib Razak on 7 April 2018. It would have been automatically dissolved on 24 June 2018,five years after the first meeting of the first session of the 13th Parliament of Malaysia on 24 June 2013.

He is a member and State Chairman of Perak and Pahang of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU),a component party of the PN and formerly Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalitions. He has served as the Vice President of BERSATU since November 2024. He also served as the 2nd Deputy President of BERSATU from August 2020 to November 2024 and 2nd State Chairman of PN and BERSATU of Negeri Sembilan from May 2023 to February and January 2024 respectively. He was also the State Chairman of PH of Perak. He was one of the only two state leaders of Malaysia who has led state administrations of two different and opposing political coalitions alongside Mukhriz Mahathir.

General elections were held in Malaysia on Saturday,19 November 2022. The prospect of snap elections had been considered high due to the political crisis that had been ongoing since 2020;political instability caused by coalition or party switching among members of Parliament,combined with the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic,contributed to the resignation of two prime ministers and the collapse of each of their respective coalition governments since the 2018 general elections.
The 2020–2022 Malaysian political crisis was triggered after several Members of Parliament (MPs) of the 14th Malaysian Parliament changed party support,leading to the loss of a parliamentary majority,the collapse of two successive coalition governments,and the resignation of two Prime Ministers. The political crisis culminated in a 2022 snap general election and eventual formation of a coalition government. This crisis ended in 2022 and Malaysian political crisis continued in the State of Sabah known as 2023 Kinabalu Move.
