Nora Aunor is a Filipino actress, recording artist, and film producer who has worked in theatre, radio, television, concerts and film.
She started her career as a singer and eventually tried her luck on movies. She made more than 175 movies in the span of more than 45 years. She is the only actress of her generation to have been directed by four National Artists for film Awardees, Gerardo de Leon, Lamberto Avellana, Lino Brocka, and Ishmael Bernal. As an actress, she is regarded as one of the best in the business because of the quality movies, television shows and stage plays that she appeared in. She was named by YES! Magazine as one of the "Philippines' 15 Best Actresses of All Time" in 2004, [1] S Magazine named her as the "Philippines' Best Actress of All Time" in 2006, [2] and in 2010, she was hailed by the Green Planet Movie Awards as one of the "10 Asian Best Actresses of the Decade". Nora Cabaltera Villamayor, known professionally as Nora Aunor, is a Filipino actress, recording artist, and film producer. Aunor has also appeared in several stage plays, television shows and concerts. She is known as Philippine cinema's "Superstar" and was conferred as a National Artist of the Philippines for Film and Broadcast Arts in 2022. The Hollywood Reporter called her "The Grand Dame of Philippine Cinema" for her performances in the movies Taklub (Trap) and Hustisya (Justice), and for her contributions to the Philippine film industry.
Himala ('Miracle') is a 1982 Filipino film directed by Ishmael Bernal and produced by the Experimental Cinema of the Philippines. It stars Nora Aunor as a young woman living in the province who claims to have seen a Marian apparition. The film story and script written by Ricky Lee was inspired by a series of alleged Marian apparitions appearing before schoolgirls, which took place from 1966 to 1972 on Cabra Island in Lubang, Occidental Mindoro.

Guy and Pip is an appellation for the very popular Philippine cinema "love team" of Nora Aunor and Tirso Cruz III whose work in film, television and recording made them the most popular Philippine show business love team of all time. The nickname "Guy" refers to Aunor while "Pip" refers to Cruz. The team started working together in the late 1960s until the 1980s. At the peak of their popularity in the 1970s, they were able to make several movies with box-office successes, television shows, as well as radio programs, and their recordings were instant hits.
