Norman Major (born April 9, 1934) is a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing Rockingham District 14 (Atkinson and Plaistow). [1] He is Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee and lives in Plaistow. [2]

Major was born in Keene, New Hampshire. He married Brenda Major in 1961; the Majors have four sons and six grandchildren. Major graduated from the University of New Hampshire and earned an MSEE from Northeastern University. He served in the U.S. Army and is now retired from a career in engineering management with AT&T. [2]

The southern terminus of NH 121 is at the Massachusetts state line in Plaistow, where the road, named Atkinson Depot Road, continues into the city of Haverhill as an unnumbered local road leading to Route 125. The northern terminus is at a traffic circle, where NH 121 meets New Hampshire Route 28 Bypass in eastern Manchester. At this point, the road is known as Manchester Road.

Timberlane Regional High School is located in Plaistow, New Hampshire, and serves as a regional high school for the towns of Atkinson, Danville, Plaistow, and Sandown, New Hampshire. The school was built in 1966 and is a part of the Timberlane Regional School District. Timberlane Regional High School is a co-educational school for grades 9-12. The school has won the 1996, 1997 and 2014 Excellence In Education Award. As of 2005, the school has approximately 1,400 students on roll. The school mascot is the owl. The school is regionally accredited for its award-winning wrestling team, which holds 28 NH State Wrestling Champions titles, as of 2020.

Route 125 is an 18.90-mile-long (30.42 km) north–south Massachusetts state route. It runs from Interstate 93 in Wilmington to the Massachusetts-New Hampshire state line in Haverhill, where it continues as New Hampshire Route 125 through Plaistow to Wakefield, New Hampshire. After the first 1.7 miles (2.7 km), which are in Middlesex County, the rest of the route passes through Essex County.

The Plaistow Carhouse was a historic streetcar carhouse at 27 Elm Street in Plaistow, New Hampshire. Built in 1901, it was a surviving reminder of a short-lived trolley service that served the town until 1930. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and was demolished around 1985.
