North Bengal Dental College & Hospital (NBDC&H) is a Government Dental College situated at Sushrutanagar, in Darjeeling, West Bengal. [1] The college is recognized by Dental Council of India and is under the West Bengal University of Health Sciences. [2] [3] [4]
North Bengal Dental College was established on 28th December 1990 with 20 seats. The college was under the University of North Bengal until formation of The West Bengal University of Health Sciences, which was established in 2003. The first principal was Dr. Bimal Chandra Bera. [2] There was no official emblem for the institute since its inception. Dr.Anurag Iswarary in November 2023 designed the official emblem and slogan for the college & hospital [5]

North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMC&H) is located in Sushrutanagar, on the outskirts of Siliguri, West Bengal, India. Pratap Chandra Memorial Homoeopathic Hospital & College (PCMHHC) is the homoeopathic medical college and hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal. The college was established in 1926 by the late Dr. Jitendra Nath Majumder, in order to commemorate the name of his father, the late Dr. Pratap Chandra Majumder, who was one of the pioneers of homoeopathy in India and popularised homoeopathy in West Bengal. Dr. Rafiuddin Ahmed was an Indian dentist, educator and later minister in the West Bengal cabinet, who founded the first dental college of India, Dr. R. Ahmed Dental College and Hospital, later named 'The Calcutta Dental College', where he remained its principal until 1950. He established the Indian Dental Journal in 1925, and played a key role in founding the Bengal Dentist Act in 1939. In 1946, he established The Bengal Dental Association which was then renamed as the Indian Dental Association.
