Jalpaiguri is a city in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is the headquarters of the Jalpaiguri district as well as of the Jalpaiguri division of West Bengal, covering the jurisdiction of the five districts of North Bengal. The city is located on the banks of the Teesta River which is the second largest river in West Bengal after the Ganges, on the foothills of the Himalayas. The city is home to the circuit bench of the Kolkata High Court, the other seat being at Port Blair in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Jalpaiguri features the Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College, the second campus of the University of North Bengal and the Biswa Bangla Krirangan/ Jalpaiguri Sports Village. It lies 35 km (22 mi) east of its twin city, Siliguri. The merging of the two cities makes it the largest metropolis of the region.

The Institute of Pharmacy, Jalpaiguri, is situated in the district of Jalpaiguri in West Bengal, India. It is situated in the District Hospital Campus in Jalpaiguri Town. It used to be known as Jackson's Medical College. It was created by the then British Government as an auxiliary medical institution to grant medical degrees in 1923. It is the first diploma pharmacy college in India, as it has been granting diploma degrees in Pharmacy since 1920. The school was upgraded to a B.Pharm degree-granting institution in 2003.
North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMC&H) is located in Sushrutanagar, on the outskirts of Siliguri, West Bengal, India. Burdwan Medical College is a public hospital and medical college located in the town of Burdwan, Purba Bardhaman, West Bengal. On 13 July 1907, the decision was made to build a hospital in Burdwan. Burdwan Medical College was established on 9 November in 1910 by Governor of Bengal and was undertaken by the University of Burdwan in 1969 as Burdwan University Medical College. Later it was and rechristened Burdwan Medical College on 4 August 1976. The campus is spread over approximately 253 acres (102 ha).
