North Howell is an unincorporated community in Marion County, Oregon, United States. [1] It is located on Howell Prairie. North Howell Elementary School, part of the Gervais School District, closed in 2002. [2] Since the school closure, many area students attend Silverton schools as well as those in Gervais. [2] Beginning in 2009, North Howell school has been leased to St. John Bosco High School, a private Catholic high school. [3]

The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1970. Although located in Howell, the school has a Farmingdale mailing address.

Beryl Alaine Howell is an American lawyer who serves as a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. She was the chief judge from 2016 to 2023. As chief judge, she supervised federal grand juries in the District, including for the Mueller special counsel investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections and investigations into attempts to overturn the 2020 United States presidential election.
William James Howell is an American politician from the Commonwealth of Virginia. He represented Virginia's 28th House of Delegates district from 1992 until 2018 and served as Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates from 2003 to 2018. He also serves as chairman of the Virginia Sesquicentennial of the American Civil War Commission. Presiding over the House during a period of Republican dominance in that chamber, Howell has been applauded by many in and out of his party as a pragmatic leader but is also notable for heading Virginia's controversial redistricting efforts following the 2010 census and firmly opposing efforts to expand Medicaid under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
