Northampton is an unincorporated area in Harris County, Texas. The Northampton Municipal Utility District manages park, electricity, water, and sewage services for the community. [1] As of 2007 the MUD has 1,625 households. [2] The names "Spring, Texas", [3] or "Klein, Texas" may be used in postal correspondence. [4]

History

The community was established circa 1967. [2]

In 2012 the MUD proposed a bond so it could expand. [1]

Education

Northampton is located in the Klein Independent School District. As of 2007 the zoned schools, all adjacent, were Northampton Elementary School, Hildebrandt Intermediate School, and Klein Oak High School. As of 2007 most residents travel by foot or on bicycle to school even though school bus services were available. [2]

Northampton Elementary's capacity is 809. It was to be relieved by the opening of French Elementary School in 2015. [5]

Nicole Patin is the principal of the school. The sports team is the Hurricanes. Klein Cain opened in 2017 with 9th and 10th grade students, then added 11th graders in 2018 and 12th graders in 2019. The school is named after Jim Cain, who worked in Klein ISD for 35 years and in public education for 47 years.
